Theatre has always been a collaborative effort to bring the shows of Broadway alive every night. At this year’s (and the past few years) Tony Awards many of the recipients of these awards were not getting the chance to appear on the telecast to accept their awards (Lifetime Achievement award for example is a huge deal, it should not be missed out, neither should awards for Best Book etc) It's important to get a correct balance at the Tony Awards which could make everyone happy, from Actors to Viewers, Sponsors to Network etc. This would be a first step to making the right changes on the Tony telecast. This is not a petition to take any time away from performances, presenters etc that’s a whole other story, plus many simple solutions exist to fit all the awards in to the telecast without extending the time etc. This is simply to say that all recipients should be able to have their moment. It’s not too much to ask to allow these artists that moment, I’m sure it can be done in a way that would satisfy all.
