I am one of many Americans who are deeply disturbed by the culture of hyperconsumerism, self-centerness, moral self-righteousness, and failure to consider the consequences of our short sighted behavior: whether economic, ecological, or political. If there is a road ahead, it is one that all of us around the world will hae to travel together. Partnership must win out over domination and one-upsmanship.
I have not been a politically active individual since John Kennedy died, but I believe that the time for change is now or never, and I do believe that you may be the most uniquely qualified person in America to lead us forward. As a former republican, I voted for you proudly in 2000, and was horrified at the banality of what we saw take place.
I realize that you must be thoroughly disillusioned with political life. I can only add my voice to the urgent call for you to openly declare your candidacy, and pledge my support.
