While we'll never be able to turn back the clock and restore the sanity that was lost to our country after the 2000 election, I do believe that your voice at the heart of the 2008 presidential debates would infuse the race with hope, action and committment to causes, not political agendas. The Democratic party has not yet provided a candidate that I can vote for in good conscience. In 2000, I felt that my views and concerns -- the environment, the state of our national water supply, education, civic responsibility -- were never addressed by the reigning parties. In the last three years, I've followed your progress towards invoking action from our citizens, and I've asked myself over and over again, what would our country be like if the Supreme Court had ruled in your favor, or all votes had been counted in the 2000 election? Would we have taken action on dire environmental concerns that effect the entire world? Would we be bombing civilians in other countries for questionable purposes? I don't think so.
You have my vote and my hope.
