    Comments: Stuart Damon and the character of Alan Quartermaine are a large part of the General Hospital we love. The writers/producers of the show seem to want to write an entirely new show with no regard to its past. But its past is what keeps us watching. I am only in my 20s, but the history and the continuity are the reason I watch. My own family does not stop with 23-30 year olds and I don't want my soap families to exist only in the world of teens and 20s. I want to watch the ruthless Edward Quartermaine's shady business dealings. I want to watch a marriage of 30 years between 2 people who have loved and hated each other, cheated on each other, and done the most despicable things one person can do to each other. That kind of history is priceless in telling current stories. Alan Quartermaine's rich history on the show is a gold mine and I and many, many others in the target demographic group want to see it explored for many years to come.
