| 55 | Anonymous | Please do not cut the fire department. We live on an island which makes us potentially more vulnerable to emergency situations! |
| 56 | lorena kai | I am a cert member and realize the firefighters are surely needed to instruct and guide us in an emergency. We do not have the skill and equipment necessary to do the emergency measures that the fire department provides us. |
| 57 | Kathryn Taddei | I am concerned about this as I live in the west end with just one fire house. When the Navy base was open they had their own fire station. Now this one west end fire station is expected to cover the former base and west end. There have been arson fires on the base since it has closed and many buildings are abandoned with over grown, dried vegetation.
I am also a member of CERT and know how needed the fire service personnel are in the event of a disaster.
Please, please don't do this!! |
| 58 | Nancy W. Gormley | The limited fire department that we now have in Alameda is too important and necessary to its citizens to cut anything from the budget. Please do not take away services and personnel. |

| 60 | Charles Hodgkins | I am very concerned that in this time of drought that Alameda would consider sidelining equipment. As a CERT member, I know that in an emergency we are going to need as much equipment as we can get. |
| 61 | Janet Crandall | |
| 62 | Cheryl Franklin | There are a few essential services we as citizens of Alameda should never have to be without. One Fire Department fully staffed and maintained; Police Department fully staffed and maintained; Public Works fully staffed and maintained; Public Utilities fully staffed and maintained(gas, electricty, water, wastewater). Any and all emergency service are vital |
| 63 | john mannion | as a home owner, and someone acutely aware of the isolated position of our comunity in the event of a diaster, i truly do not want any performence limitations placed on alameda's fire stations. |

| 68 | Anonymous | One of the most senseless cuts ever proposed for the city of Alameda |
| 69 | ingrid l. buono | |
| 70 | EA Haycock | How can the City even consider cutting funding to such an essential service to the community , as the Fire Department?? when at the same time they are considering increased taxation to cover a non essential, such as the schools sports programs !!!
Where will the kids be if their homes are destroyed because there were insufficient resouces to respond in an emergency? Let us not forget that "the BIG one" could happen at any time, and resources are already inadequate for such a disaster, ~ the City needs to consider an increase in its support for the Fire Department NOT cutbacks. |

| 73 | steve floyd | keep all fire trucks open do not jeopardise our safety. |
| 74 | kelly, mitchell, nolan, ryan floyd | do not turn afd into amr. when we call 911 we want service. |

| 77 | Guisela Rischard | Alameda is a City that is growing and cutting the Firefighters will be a total disaster for the community, we have more houses been built, more businesses and a big potential in the old base to grow more. Sometimes we even have to get help from Oakland when we have a big fire. We need to keep our firefighters, they are important and they make me feel safe in Alameda. |
| 78 | Jeremiah Dees | Please do not jeapordize the safety of our citizens and firefighters. Keep the truck open. |
| 79 | Ela Dees | Our firefighters need full staffing to do their jobs safely. Please do not cut more positions. |

| 84 | Jill Imani | When we needed the fire department for a 911 call, they were there within seconds. Please don't jeopardize our friends and neighbors if they need help like we did.
Cut the grass budget for the parks before you put lives at risk! |
