نحن الموقعون والموقعات ادناه نطالب الحكومة اليمنية بإطلاق سراح الكاتب والمدون علي علي قاسم السعيدي. تم اعتقال الأستاذ السعيدي، الذي يعمل كمدير عام الموازنة والتخطيط في أمانة مجلس القضاء،  إثر كتاباته ونقاشاته على الإنترنت ومحاكمته أمام نيابة الصحافة و المطبوعات. وتطالب النيابة بإعدام الأستاذ السعيدي بتهمة الردة عن الإسلام، وتصر في الوقت ذاته على فصله من عمله وتفريقه قسراً عن زوجته. ونحن وإذ نذكر السلطات اليمنية بالمعاهدات الدولية التي وقعت عليها والتزاماتها باحترام وضمان حرية الرأي والفكر نناشدها إطلاق سراح سجين الرأي قاسم علي علي السعيدي فوراً، وتعويضه عن المعاناة التي تعرض إليها على مدار الشهور الماضية. 

We, the undersigned call on the Yemeni government to release writer and blogger Ali Ali Qasim  Al Saidi. Mr. Al Saidi , who works at the secretariat of the Judicial Council, was arrested because of his writings on the Internet and tried before the Press and Publications Court. The Prosecutor is demanding the death penalty and execution of Mr. Al Saidi on charges of apostasy, insisting at the same time on his dismissal from his work and imposing a forced divorce from his wife. We kindly remind the Yemeni government of its ratification of international human rights conventions and declared commitment to the protection of freedom of expression and opinion, and demand the immediate release of Mr. Al Saidi and his compensation for the suffering he endured over the past months.
