| 401 | Jessica Ryno | This may make the AKC some quick money but it will hurt them, if not kill them in the long run. |
| 402 | Jessi Brothers | This alliance between the AKC and Petland is absolutely unacceptable. By endorsing the sale of puppies in a petstore, the AKC will be supporting puppy millers, backyard breeders, as well as creating so many more dogs in rescue. |
| 403 | H Best | I am dismayed that the AKC has anything to do with companies like PETLAND. You should be working to shut down these brokers of miller's dogs. SHAME ON YOU
A lover, shower, breeder of dogs.

| 404 | Ron Allen | It is apparant to me that the AKC no longer cares about the responsible (read that hobby) breeder. In fact, it seems pretty clear to me that the AKC would rather move into a NEW DIRECTION. That is, the direction of registering those poor AKC registerable puppy mill pups and those unethical back yard breeder dogs and pups. After all, there are so many more of them then there are the responsible breeders. Those who care about the breed, conduct health clearances, make sure pets are sold on spay/neuter contracts, and are protectors of their breed are loosing the AKC huge amounts of money. Don't you get it? Your not registering enough litters! Your not selling your pet pups with breeding rights! You're much too careful in your breedings by trying too hard to study those pedigrees and breed for the most healthy and sound dogs that you can!
Why should AKC care about you resonsible breeders any longer when the puppy millers and back yard breeders will be breeding "oh so many more litters" and then registering "all of those litters"? You can bet your bottom dollar that none of those pups will be sold on spay/neuter contracts! They will then sell those litters to unsuspecting and uneducated buyers who will in turn, turn around and do the same thing effectively making the AKC HUGE amounts of money.
Who cares about health, soundness and temperament??? Breed for Greed!! Let the buyer deal with the HD, epilepsy, IBD, cataracts and whatever else comes there way!
Hmmm... I hate to see what else is in AKC's "5 Year Plan".
I suppose mixed breeds (not too bad as long as they are ILP only) are next. That right there could bring in "Boku Bucks" to AKC.
Next step, maybe it will be those designer breeds. Yes, that's it!! Tons of money to be made there!!
Holy Cow! I may have hit the nail on the head!
I think a national boycott of AKC is order!
Time for ethical breeders to move on out of the AKC. AKC needs to make room for those BYB, Puppy Mill and Designer Dogs.
They have no more use for you responsible breeders. Well, I take that back. Yes, they do have use for you. What a source of advertisement you are to the AKC when you promote, campaign and special your dogs. The public enjoys the telelvised conformation events. Such great advertisement to the AKC! So, I guess there is use for you after all. You keep the AKC's reputation intact, and help sell those puppy mill and byb pups.
What is it that I read somewhere about money? Oh yeah, now I remember. "Money is the root of all evil!"
That evil is personified in the AKC/Petland Alliance! |

| 411 | Karen Ellett | I have a chinese crested that was seized in a raid on a puppy mill. It took a lot of work to get her to a normal state.
Pet shop dogs almost always come from puppy mills. These dogs are not socialized or healthy.
Pets shops should not be allowed to sell dogs!!
The AKC should be working to stop this not help them to continue.
Thank you |

| 413 | Wesley Schrier | The AKC demonstrates corruption yet again. I sometimes wonder why I give any judge an entry let alone a registration to AKC. This proves yet again that this organization is more about politics than principle. |
| 414 | Lisa Holt | We can in no way shape or form support puppy mills. Selling puppies in a retail establishment with no restrictions on breeding with further deteriorate the breed standards and health concerns. |
| 415 | Lisa Holt | We can in no way shape or form support puppy mills. Selling puppies in a retail establishment with no restrictions on breeding with further deteriorate the breed standards and health concerns. |
| 416 | Anonymous | I feel that the point of the AKC is to control breeding and uphold standards, NOT encourage puppy mill production. I find it incredible that the AKC even considered such an arrangement. |
| 417 | Lisa Holt | |
| 418 | Jean Ensor | There must be more measures of accountability than sending in a piece of paper and money in order to register a dog. The AKC should have and show compassion for the dogs it is registering. If a breeding does not improve the breed then what is the purpose. The poor little pet shop dogs their parents, grandparents, ad infinitum are victims of man's greed. Don't let them be victims of the AKC , an organization that is supposed to help and protect them, as well. |
| 419 | Christopher Kersting | I believe the AKC must not enter into any agreements that can be construed as an endorsement of their policies, products, and procedures. |
| 420 | Brianne Cook | AKC has sold it's soul to the devil. Who would ever believe they would stoop this low?? Charge me more to register a litter. I would gladly pay it if you are that desperate for money. |
| 421 | Lyne Gagné | |
| 422 | Virginia Volquardsen | Basenji's are not a dog that SHOULD be sold thru a pet store. And I do know of a alot of other tempermental breeds that also should not be sold in pet stores. They all should be sold by the breeders, that can tell people each dogs particular trait . Also as far as I am concerned, there is enough dogs and cats in rescue and in pounds all over the USA with out adding to them. So Please re-consider your affiliations with Pet Stores . |

| 432 | Susan Magan | I can't believe that you are condoning what to all intents and purposes furthers the cause of the 'puppy miller' all for the almighty dollar> Shame on you!! |
| 433 | Catherine Low | Disgraceful, AKC. |
| 434 | Cyrene Hatcher | Ethical breeders who breed for the betterment of their favorite breed of dog are what we need. Those who breed to make big profits are causing misery in both animals and people. The animals suffer the most and that should be taken into consideration. |
| 435 | Shirley Gilchrest | |
| 436 | Patty Brightly | This is just one more way to promote the puppy millers. Something the AKC should strongly stand against. The AKC should stand for The dedication to the healthy purebred dog physically, mentally and structurally. |
| 437 | Pontois Pascale | |
| 438 | paul brabenec | |
| 439 | Livia Sforza | The AKC Board of Directors should be ashamed of themselves. The member clubs should rise up and at the very least vote the lot of them out of their cushy positions. |
| 440 | Shelley Howard | |
| 441 | A. Solomon | If AKC endorses HVB's, brokers and pet shops, then they are no better! Boycotting AKC dog shows might have to be the next move. Unfortunately that hurts the responsible breeders, but seems like AKC may not be giving us much choice. |
| 442 | Danielle Gauthier | Please help to stop this horror ! |
| 443 | Dorothy Smith | You appear to be shooting yourselves in the foot - again! Get real. |
| 444 | Stephanie Bell | Shame on the AKC for supporting puppy mills! And shame on AKC for becoming a FOR PROFIT organization!!! |
| 445 | Pierre Joyal | |
| 446 | Gladys Brandstoettner | You have had a great reputation in the past for helping to set high standards in breeding and raising pet.s Don't ruin that by catering to puppy millers and pet shops that only intersted in making a profit. |
| 447 | Maureen Palmer | I am shocked AKC would even consider this. Shame , shame, Shame!!! |
| 448 | Michael Fonner | |
| 449 | Larry Hostetler | I am shocked that AKC would take up a partnership with PetLand. Why does AKC support health research if you are going to promote the purchase of puppies from an organization that clearly is supplied by puppy mills. Don't think of dollars....think responsible breeders and pet ownership.
