| 601 | Kathryn Souder | Yes, I want AKC to stop their alliances with pet shops. |
| 602 | Carola Butler | Whatever happened to putting the welfare of dogs first? |
| 603 | Sara Mizner | |
| 604 | Teresa Drais | |
| 605 | Anne Vigneri | Is the AKC so in need of making money that it is willing to encourage PET STORE SALES and even PUPPY MILLS ? I am disgusted that this is even under consideration. Those who breed dogs for profit are NOT interested in health or temperament . They do not care where these puppies end up. It is a business that is fraught with heartbreak , run by those with NO heart. Shame on the AKC. !!! |

| 609 | Anonymous | Pleae do not, do this. |
| 610 | Debra Tousey | With this alliance, AKC is putting kennel club's in the position of sorting through these dogs and if the clubs cannot persuade these owners not to show their dogs because of lack of quality, are the judges then willing to withhold ribbons?? Many of the dogs that I see as a groomer from HVB or pet shops in many cases look very little like the breed they are suppose to be and in many cases, our grooming staff even wonders if they are purebred, what steps will AKC take to insure that healthy dogs are being bred, free on genetic defects?? Wil AKC require the breeders that supply Petland to join the National Clubs and adhere to those club's Code of Ethics with regard to breeding?? |
| 611 | Anonymous | I can't believe that you(AKC) will advocate puppy sales in pet stores knowing full well that most of these puppies come from puppy mills. This sickens me and AKC you should be shamed all over the world. SHAME on your greed for the all mighty dollar. Rhonda |

| 613 | Nancy Clark | This will not help STOP pupy mills they register dog anyway |

| 617 | Cathy Chapman | This flys in the face of AKC's mission statement. I cannot comprehend how they can do this other than for money. There are other ways to balance the budget! |
| 618 | Serena Galloway | Kissing Puppymiller's and Pet Store's butts is not the way to educate or DO what the AKC is supposed to do...uphold the integrity of each and ever breed. |
| 619 | Richard Nixon | |
| 620 | Paula J Rasey | this alliance with Petland or any similar business needs to stop now. those dogs will no way better the breeds that AKc recognizes, and having them registered will serve NO purpose. |
| 621 | Dorie T. Sparkman | Pet shops and puppy mills negatively impact the sport of purebred dogs. |
| 622 | Lesley Harger | |
| 623 | Dyan Kalal | I can't believe that the AKC would want their name even mentioned in the same sentence as Petland,,due to Petland reputation as selling puppy mill dogs.
Please rethink this AKC! |
| 624 | ariel wolters | |
| 625 | Jade Hall | This is just ridiculous!! No wonder the pet buying public doesn't bother registering their puppies!! How are we - the REPUTABLE breeders - supposed to encourage our puppies be registered when AKC wants to climb into bed with the puppymills??? |
| 626 | DONNA MORGENSTERN | This is totally wrong making money off Petland
petshops. |
| 627 | Carol Callahan | As a long time breeder, exhibitor and AKC judge, I object to the recent action taken by AKC in signing an agreement with Petland. This will only make purchasing puppies from pet stores more appealing when that is not at all in the best interest of any breed of dog. I do not know of one breeder who thinks this was an intelligent decision on the part of AKC. Please reconsider. |
| 628 | Janice Vogel | I cannot believe that AKC would consider getting involved with PETSTORES. It is sad that the Registery would STOOP to this level for the almighty buck.
Many breeders/exhibitors are in an uproar over this and we do intend to STAND AGAINST AKC if they pursue this course of action. |

| 632 | Ken & Lucy Tracy | To AKC: Unless you are able to ensure that all AKC puppies sold by pet stores are registered on a limited registration and with a spay/neuter contract, your alliance with pet stores and volume breeders who obviously could care less where their puppies end up, will be disastrous for the purebreed fancy and the sport of dogs. No matter what you (AKC) say about not endorsing any particular breeder, you are supporting pet stores and thus, puppy mills, by this action. Maybe next you will be honoring the Hunt Corporation as Breeder of the Year at the next AKC Invitational!! We are appalled by this agreement and hope that you will reconsider your decision. Even our parent club's Code of Ethics requires us not to sell to pet stores or brokers. Yet, the AKC, which governs our clubs and approves our Constitution and By-Laws is now signing contracts with the very brokers and pet shops that will sell our breeds to anyone who walks in the door with the cash. We implore you to cancel this contract. Respect the wishes of reputable breeders who love their dogs, who do their best to to better their breed, despite the cost. |
| 633 | Kristi Marshall | Rescue already have their hands full, why promote puppy mills? With all the animal rights groups trying to stop any breeding of pure bred dogs why would AKC take another step towards justifying their arguement of bad breeders? Bad conditions? Bad temperments? The list goes on. The pure bred dog sport is already declining, we should be working together to improve the image not distroy it. Most breeders are not in it for the money, but for the love of the dogs. Maybe it's time AKC revaluate their priorties and put dogs before profit. |
| 634 | Joan Aaron | Please stop the alliances with HVBs and Pet Shops. |
| 635 | Juanita "Jo" Bott | I think alliance with a pet shop is against all AKC should be standing for
THE BETTERMENT OF PUREBRED DOGS
NOT
the profit |

| 641 | Wendy Jerger | I will back this petition right up to the very end. People should only be allowed to purchase animals from breeders. Has the AKC not realized yet that practices like this are why there are so many unwanted animals in shelters, rescue groups and the streets ? This should never be allowed to pass !!! |
| 642 | Anonymous | This idea and the fact that is was conducted insecret is outrageous. Those involves are more interested in money than in the purpose of the organizatioon or the best interest of members and breeds. |
| 643 | Cheryl | I am completely disgusted by this news! Shame on the AKC!! |
| 644 | Sara | |
| 645 | Donna Butler | |
| 646 | Jerry Butler | |
| 647 | Skip | appalling and unacceptable |
| 648 | Julie Brown | AKC - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER to stop puppy mills! AKC registration means nothing to anyone informed about animal welfare. Please restrict AKC registration to inspected, regulated breeders who live up to excellent animal welfare standards and who strictly limit their breeding to a reasonable number of litters per year. |
| 649 | Marilyn Marshall | What are you thinking? |
| 650 | Crystal Montez | Please reconsider allowing PetLand to allow buyers to AKC register ANY puppy. This is mearly supporting puppy mills and an outrage. |
