| 451 | Viveca Jordan | I am appalled that the AKC has formed this alliance with puppy mills. If AKC is going to go forth with this alliance, then the registration of a dog will mean nothing! I will not support any AKC event. |

| 454 | Lyn Kiley | I have been "in" dogs for more that 35 years and proud to support AKC in it's endeavors to support the small, "in home" dog person. I see this contract as being in conflict with what I thought the AKC mission is. Please negate this contract with Petland. |
| 455 | Anonymous | You need to re-think allowing puppy millers and pet stores being able to register puppie with the AKC!
We are totally against this move and think it is not in keeping with all of the positive ideals that the AKC has espoused. |

| 458 | Brad Harvey | In memory of every dog who ever lived in a P.O.S. puppy mill. Shame on you, AKC! |

| 461 | Sheila Sprung | By cancelling the contract with Petland, the AKC will prove to those of us who care about the welfare of these poor dogs from puppymills that the AKC cares as well. This will send a huge message to the puppymillers that the AKC will no longer sit back, collect checks, and show no interest in the damage these despicable people are doing to each and every breed of dog out there!! Thank you. |

| 463 | Ted Zalac | This goes against everything the purebred fancy stands for and they are the foundation of the AKC. Please do not support these pet stores and the puppy mills they represent. |
| 464 | Nelia Duarte | |
| 465 | Sally Ann Smith | Remember the infamous "Cash Cow" memo"? Well, looks like that policy is still in effect, and then some!! You guys don't care about dogs, you care about profits. Shameful! |
| 466 | Sally Little | |
| 467 | Dawn M. Sung | |
| 468 | Kathleen | ANYONE who cares even a tiny bit about animal welfare should be lobbying the government to OUTLAW the sale of cats and dogs at ANY retail outlet. This is the only way to shut down the mills, to erase their marketplace. |
| 469 | Mary v. Williams | We have been fighting for years to discourage the purchase of animals from pet stores. This is a slap in the face to all who hold animal welfare to higher standards.
All this will do is endorse puppy milss, etc and confuse the public.
Seems to me it will also cause economic hardship for professional breeders.
Makes no sense at all for the long term benefit of the breeding community and the dogs they lovingly breed.
Please cancel the contract. |
| 470 | Ricky McIntosh | If your going to allow Backyard breeders and puppy mills and petland to register inferior animals why not just let people register every mangy mutts, mongrels, junk yard dogs or anything on 4 legs for that matter. After all, all your after is the money, If you do this you don't care about pure breeds and high standards. |
| 471 | Carrie Belair | Horrific your decisions to support Petco by - has greed totally blinded you to what is RIGHT! Shame on you all. I will with hold any litter registrations or shows that AKC are involved in - and will encourage all members of the Bolognese Clubs to follow suit.
Carrie Belair
President
The Bolognese Club of Canada |
| 472 | mary jo kingston | This is a really bad idea and one so momentous that it should be brought to a vote of at least the delegates if not the whole AKC. |
| 473 | Bonnie Short | I realize money is short for AKC, as it also is for the rest of us. We as breeders are having to "tighten our belts" during this time, and, AKC may just have to do the same. I realize pet owners don't often register their dogs, but, by using a pet store chain, you are encouraging pet mill puppy production rather than the breeders who have backed AKC for generations. Please reconsider this option! |

| 480 | Joyce Berry | I'm tired of commenting to people who do not truly care about animals and that is how I am begining to feel towards the AKC. Don't believe I'll watch the show on TV anymore. |
| 481 | Anonymous | I think the AKC has corrupted its own morals and they MUST STOP this nonsense.
YOU MUST STOP THIS IDIOTIC STUFF NOW. |

| 486 | Patricia Herschman | Well the AKC continues to "out do" itself. First telling the dog world of how "great" the Hunt Corporation operations are, followed by the endorsement of PAWS, then accusing judges with disciplinary action if they judge for others and now this contract with Petland. What's next?? While the AKC may be so naive as to think that the Petland staff won't be saying that the AKC ENDORSES their puppies, nobody else believes it!!!!!!! Responsible breeders want to thank the AKC for their abandonment of the fancy and the sport of dogs. Your constituents are the member dog clubs, NOT the puppy millers. How about supporting us for a change? It would be a nice change if the Board listened to the member clubs. Alas that seems unlikely to happen. I even think that the AKC Board are well aware of how unpopular these rulings/contracts/endorsements are going to be among the member clubs, otherwise why would the AKC go to such lengths as to keep their plans under wraps until they are presented as"done deals"? Shame on the AKC and its Board. It is time for the AKC Board to resign before they destroy the sport entirely. |
| 487 | Kelly Monroe | The AKC is going to swiftly lose those of us who *already* register our puppies if they continue down this slippery slope... |
| 488 | Penny | Shame on you AKC, You need to clean up your registering body and stop supporting Puppy mills and Petstores, this could be the ruiniation of your registry, how can you be curtain these puppies are in-fact Purebred. |
| 489 | Jacquie Paetz | This is not a good method to go about educating the public to research the breed first and then find a reputable breeder. |

| 492 | Mags Dalton | |
| 493 | Nancy Schultz | |
| 494 | Samantha Bentley | Puppy mills need to be put out of business not encouraged to continue |
| 495 | Leslie Maier | |
| 496 | Jean Roepcke | |
| 497 | Kelly Newman | I can't beleive that the AKC would start working with pet shops. |
| 498 | Anonymous | This is just insane! It only supports the puppy mills and where will most of these dogs end up? RESCUE! ! |
| 499 | Hercy Lord | The AKC does NOTHING to advance the saving of purebred and mix breed dogs in SHELTERS! A bunch of snobs who do NOT lobby the USDA to close down PUPPY MILLS. There should NOT be any breeders who have more than several pregnant dogs at a time, and the dogs should be in the HOME, and not in wire cages in unheated, unairconditioned barns! If they CARED about dogs, they would take all their money and CLOSE puppy mills. |
