AKC Consider Alternatives for Increased Revenue other than HVB/Petland Alliances

The petition

THANK YOU! THE AKC HAS DECIDED TO BACK OUT OF THE ARRANGEMENT WITH PETLAND DUE TO PRESSURE FROM DOG LOVERS! WE PRAY THEY WILL NOT ATTEMPT SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN AND MAYBE EVEN PULL OUT OF THEIR HUNTE CORP CONTRACT. HOWEVER, WE STILL WANT THEM TO RECOGNIZE ALTERED CROSSBREDS FOR PERFORMANCE COMPETITIONS.


We the below signed are urging the American Kennel Club to give ILP numbers to adopted altered crossbred dogs so they can compete in performance events. This act will be a more ethical way of gaining lost revenue than allying with high volume breeders and pet shops. By allying with rescue groups, using them to promote good dog ownership skill and giving this opportunity to owners of adopted crossbred dogs from rescues, the American Kennel Club would be showing increased caring for the dog world as a whole.
