Anonymous | I like visiting the threatre but it is always too hot and uncomfortable
russell jenkins | as usual a fairly good theatre let down by a poor air conditioning system and audience facilites
Kevin Alexander | Another great show from the Griffin Players, but the heat in the theatre was unbearable. Come on LBC it's time you got it sorted - this is 2007 not 1967, air con is as essential as toilets are!

michelle arnold | I would definitely come to see more things at the Luton Library Theatre if it wasn't so uncomfortably hot in the theatre.
Steve Wilson |
Kirsty Day | it is very hot inside the theatre which makes it even worse for those of us performing on stage which is bad enough as it is!
Julia Edwards | The show was marvellous, the heat was unbearable!
Elaine Plater | Please do someting about the air conditioning. If it carries on, people will stop attending show.

| 65 | Alex Kerbiriou | I have been to the Library Theatre many of times to see plays, and I find it such a shame that it always feels spoilt by how hot it gets in there, it is unbearable! I think
I might not bother next time, unless something is done about it. Thanks for your time. |
Gilly Gerrard | Please please install air conditioning.
Elaine Gidman |
John O'Leary | The performers, the audience, the employees and the town deserve better. The most uncomfortable theatre i have been in. Improvements are well overdue.
Hayley Newman | Having used the theatre since I was 7 to perform and be in the audience, it really is about time someone somewhere woke up and realised the state of our theatre....... Air conditioning is a must!!!
Andrew Fox | I have attended a number of shows at the theatre and the heat inside is too much and takes the enjoyment out of watching the shows.
| 71 | Nick Blackmore | 1. The theatre was extremely hot. Particularly given that it was not that hot a night outside
2. When paying a premium price for purchases from the bar one expects a premium service. Certainly putting out warm cans of drinks and drinks with no ice for the interval is disgusting. Also, the fact that there was no ice left for after the show |

Mathew Orr | If The Library Theatre is to compete with other state-of-the-art facilities in the area, this is a problem that must be resolved. Having staged productions during the summer months at the venue, the poor state of the air conditioning at the venue is something which spoils the audience's enjoyment of the production and may lead to audience members being unwilling to attend events in those conditions. We want as many people as possible to enjoy local theatre. This is a problem which could be easily remedied. Luton Light therefore fully supports The Griffin Players' petition.

Liz Hale | The theatre is intolerable sometimes. How more people dont faint I have no idea. I was doing front of house during the Panto which is held in December and I found a lady sleeping on the cold toilet floor - she said she was so hot she had fainted on the toilet floor - and it was so cool she didnt want to get up. Strange I know - but an example of how overheated people get.
Steven Quinlan | I've seen a few shows at the library theater before I had a chance to be in one, and the lack of airconditioning has been an issue for some time. Given how many theater groups use the Library Theater and how frequently it is used, this should definitely have a higher priority than it does.
Ned Lawton | Luton and District Drama Groups have been treated like 2nd class citizens for more years than I care to remember, when it comes to finding appropriate venues to stage their productions. The Library Theatre is far from ideal and the one thing which really stops it achieving any level of acceptability is the lack of modern air conditioning. Audiences will dwindle if they are not treated to a comfortable environment.
Lorna McCarthy |
Ellie Kingdon | Please sort this out - our audiences deserve better than to sweat each time they come to see a performance!
Joanne Litchfield |
Robin Edwards |
J Mills |
julia mansfield | The show was great but it was hotter than Barbados without the breeze!
Nicola Bird |
Ann Watson | Its about time Luton Council looked after its theatre goers
donna | when there are lots in there it is not nice even if the performance is.then people get put off going.

Catherine Johnson | I was in Witches of Eastwick last week and I was sweltering on stage but could also see the audience were very uncomfortable using their programmes as fans ! I even heard that some people left in the interval as it was too hot !!

Ian Crawford | Great show spoiled by unberable temperatures. We found it had to stay awake never mind enjoy the show to the full. Surely there must be a grant available from the government or europe. Perhaps a tiny slice of the millions being spent on the the Arndale renevation could be re-allocated to repairing the air-conditioning or even roof windows that could be openend.
