Karen Day | The theatre is so hot it spoils the enjoyment of watching the shows
Richard garrett | The biggest talking point was the sweltering heat in the theatre not the fantastic show, it spoilt the evening and i know people avoid coming to the library theatre because of this problem

Debbie Cavanagh | Everyone I have spoken to loved the show but did find the heat made the experience uncomfortable. Lets get this sorted out!
Michael Costabile | Despite warning my guests about the heat, every single one of them commented that it was unacceptably warm in the theatre. In addition, to be served warm drinks without ice from a commercial bar does not meet customer expectations
Gerwyn Perring-Hughes | I have visited the theatre on a number of occasions now and agree with the petition. The ventilation system is in dire need of replacing.
| 11 | Roger Kelly | Considering the the current upgrade of St George's Square, in order to give Luton a 21st Century town centre, it is a shame that the only Council entertainment venue in this location has had to cope with such archaic facilities. The venue is hot even in the winter, let alone the summer. It is most definitely a reason why some potential theatre goers choose not to attend St Georges.
I urge the council to revisit this problem urgently. |
Elizabeth Rhodes | I was F of H on Wednesday and there were several older people who were very distressed by the temperature.
Chris Baldock | .
Richard Lovelock | The atmosphere for audiences is awful, the theatre needed proper air conditioning years ago,

Samantha Baldock | The facilities at the Library need updating not only with the air conditioning but also with the long queus at the bar for drinks before and during the interval. Curtain up time is usually later as the audience is not served on time. Please listen to us.

john horley | Most times that I visit the Library theatre in Winter and summer the temperature is unpleasant, but especially when the auditorium is full or nearly full
| 22 | Guy Baldock | We attended Saturday Nights performance of Witches at the Library Theatre. As usual, the Griffins attempted a new and challenging production which was only marred by the temperature in the auditorium. How the actors and band coped with this problem all week I do not know. Its about time Luton had a suitable theatre. But in the meantime whilst we have to endure the poor facilities at the Library the least the council can do is to ensure a reasonable environment for the
actors / audience. |
Kate Boniface |
Angus Gulliver | I bet more people would go to the theatre if they could sit in comfortable temperatures!
Gareth Lloyd |

Dee Bryson | I am 9 month's pregnant and found it almost unbearably hot - I thought I was going to pass out or go into labour! It needs sorting out now
Sarah Albert | The heat was unbearable. Being 35 weeks pregnant also, I am sure this compromises health and safety regulations
Sarah Primett | I have been to the last few plays at your theatre but after feeling really uncomfortable again, I might not come to the next one!
Matthew Napleton |
| 32 | John Allingham | The theatre has had this problem for years ,as this is Lutons only theatre inadequate as it is,this problem must be addressed ASAP!!!!!

Dave Houghton |
Helen Harris | It was a fabulous show and unfortunately almost spoilt my the soaring high temperature
Eloise Rowan |
Julie Gardner |
Anonymous | it got soooo hot
Mel Knight | It was really too hot, and would be a shame for people to miss out on shows because of fear of fainting. And this week the weather wasn't even mild, let alone hot!
Beryl Nash | It was a great show and nearly spoilt because of the heat.
Nisit Nathwani |
Jenna Ryder-Oliver | I have been involved in several productions at the library theatre now, and the temperature endured by both performers and audience in the auditorium is almost unbearable.
Michael Hale | Surely the good people of Luton are entitled to have an evening of entertainment and culture in comfort. Come on Luton Borough Council, spend some of my hard earned on something worthwhile and upgrade / re-new the airconditioning in the St GeorgesTheatre. This theatre is so important to Luton and it's history. If you cannot provide a decent Theatre for the town, then at least look after the one we have ! Pull your finger out and do something before someone dies of heat exhaustion !! Now that would put Luton on the map!!
Lisa Farrell | quite simply unbearable

Nick | Air con would be cool!!
David Franks |
eileen kirby | I have left several performances early because the overheated auditorium has triggered my panic attacks. I fully support this petition for purely selfish motives - good luck with a campaign which deserves local support.
david howard | A wonderful show and evening endured in very hot and sticky conditions. Unacceptable in this day and age
Marie O'Donnell | I have never been to a performance where I haven't had to leave the theatre to cool down at some point.
