Since 2001, Annapolis High School Varsity Women's Lacrosse team has not been able to make it above Severna Park, South River or Broadneck in the county rankings. But each year, we would have an average of 3-5 players continuing their lacrosse career in college. If we had the proper coaching, with in depth drills focusing on certain aspects of the game, effective technique to plays we use on the offensive and defensive end of the field, and better organization from the position of a coach; we could be the number 1 team in Anne Arundel County, no doubt. We don't lack the talented players and the advanced skills, we just lack the coach with the amount of experience necessary for taking a team to the State Championship each May. This petition is to make a change to the program and evolve it, just the like sport of lacrosse has evolved! We could be just like the Varsity Women's Basketball team did this winter with their new coaches. They had an exceptional season because they were guided by 2 young females, fresh out of college, that had the experience that most teams aren't able to get coached by each and every day. We will be the change we want to see in AHS Varsity Women's Lacrosse team!! Let's make it happen!!
