Thanks for informing the literary world about the improvement in
the health of the Great poet Janab Ahmed Faraz.
The literary circles and all the well wishers are praying and hope
that Prominent poet Faraz will again be in good health shortly.
I am glad to note that Iftekhar Nasim,his friends,Doctors,Hospital
Authoroties,well wishers are taking care of Faraz Sahib.
I read something about the Pakistani Embassy / Pakistani
Diplomats / Officials in the USA assisting or trying to do something
to meet the Hospital expences etc.
It is the responsibility of the Government of Pakistan,Hundreds of
Pakistani Missions all over the World,all the Senior poets,
scholars,writers,literary associations,anjumans, bazms,mehfils,
language authorities,Anjuman Tarraqi-i-Urdu,Writers Guild,Halqa e
Arbab e Zouq,Bazm e Adab,organisers of literary,cultural functions,
Pakistani Community Centres,Pakistani Clubs in Pakistan and also in
various countries to move rapidly whenever the poets,writers,
journalists,editors,media,education experts etc. need any help /
assistance,medical care,accomodation,shelter etc.
Can the Senior poets,writers inform us and the literary circles in
Pakistan and in the hundreds of countries all over the world if there
are any suitable organizations or any official/semi official
departments helping/assisting the senior/old/sick poets,writers,
journalists,editors,scholars AND IF NOT ??? THEN , WHY ??? What are
they doing?What is the function of Writers Guild?Literature/Culture
promotion Departments,Anjuman Taraaqi-i-URDU,URDU Board,Language
Authority,Urdu Colleges,Urdu Universities etc ?
Just for the kind attention of all the Senior Urdu poets,writers
and also for the attention of all the Lovers of Urdu language and
Urdu literature,please read the following and if you are not too busy
in this difficult,terrible word then,kindly write your comments after
having a very hot cup of tea,coffee.
A few years ago,I was in Karachi where I was invited to attend the
Annual Function of Pakistan Writers Guild.
The speakers were informing the poets and writers about the
activities of the Guild starting from fifties.
I noticed that the people were not asking any questions.WHY ? I do
not know ? I got up from my seat and asked the questions about any
welfare schemes,housing/accomodation,health care schemes for the
old,sick,jobless,homeless poets,writers,scholars,journalists,
editors,print/electronic media,education experts.I then raised
question about the very big plot of land belonging to the Writers
Guild in Lahore but,reportedly occupied by others.
I requested them to keep the lovers of Urdu inform regularly
through the powerful print and electronic media as to what work they
are carrying out for the betterment,welfare of the poets,writers
especially,the old,sick,needy,jobless and shelterless Ahl e Qalam.
I requested them to meet the President,Prime Minister,Governors,
Chief Ministers,MNA's,MPA's,Nazims,Senior Officials and request them
officially to arrange plots of lands / apartments etc. at no cost or
at reasonable costs for the old poets,writers including the old
Overseas Pakistani poets,writers,journalists,editors etc. whose
services to the language,literature and Pakistani Community in
different countries are well known and always appreciated by all
except that , their names never appear in the Pakistani Awards
distributed by Pakistani President in the President House on National
Days such as 14th. August , 23rd. March , 25th. Dec. etc.
Will President Musharraf,Prime Minister Gilani,Chief of the Supreme
Court,Ministers,MNA's,MPA's (elected by people and enjoying the best
life,facilities) read this letter and think / inform the Pakistani
Nation as to what plans (practical type not just speeches) they have
for the welfare,betterment,housing,suitable recognition/awards/
stipends/allowances for the old,sick,jobless, shelterless,needy poets
and writers etc. ?
I suggest to the Senior poets,writers to be ACTIVE,request / ask
for your rights.Will you read it JUST AS ANY OTHER LETTER or , WILL
YOU ? cooperate with your Brother Saghier Jafri for getting your
rights , getting THE THINGS MOVING (INSHA ALLAH) in the RIGHT
DIRECTIONS???
