This petition is to stop the blatant abuse of Governmental Powers, through intimidation and violation of our First Amendment rights; our freedom of speech. It has come to the attention of the People of the United States, that certain members in Congress and elected officials are attempting to silence the peopleʼs voice by means of prosecution against those saying anything allegedly negative or erroneous about the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama. The State in question is Missouri and the group is called The Truth Squad. Their stated mission, as described above, was made on KMOV TV in St. Louis on September 23rd, 2008, by the following supporters of Senator Obama: U.S Senator Claire McCaskill, Louis City prosecutor Jennifer Joyce, St. Louis county prosecutor Bob McCulloch and an unnamed sheriff. The stated mission of the Truth Squad is a clear threat to the First Amendment rights of the people of Missouri. The Governor of the state of Missouri has raised concerns about the impact of these police state tactics on freedom of speech. He indicated that The Squad would frighten people away from expressing themselves and subdue open debate, support and donations. We call for an immediate retraction and apology in the media TV and News outlets from Senator Claire McCaskill, St. Louis prosecutor Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County prosecutor Bob McCulloch for attempting to intimidate the public in this manner. The First Amendment is our sacred right and to abuse it for political gain should be dealt with immediately. This petition is valid for all states in the United States .Therefore, any elected officials that use their governmental powers to intimidate and/or cause emotional or physical harm to the public, on behalf of any candidate running for office, or tries to silence the public in opposition to constitutionally guaranteed First Amendment rights, must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Signed by We the People
