ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! MY RELIGION, MY BODY, MY CHOICE!!! MODESTY, why are so many people against it these days The personal and religious choice to conceal one's physical attributes in order to shed some light on the importance of interior beauty is not only frowned upon in Canada right now, it is being threatened to be legally banned. Since when is it a crime to fulfill the obligations of one's religion by practicing modesty and self-respect Members of the Muslim Canadian Congress claim that covering of the face is a symbol of extremism with no basis in Islam therefore wearing burqas and niqabs should be banned. They argue that this is a practice that has no place in a society that supports gender equality. But Canada is not just a society that supports gender equality; it is a country that prides itself on fundamental rights of freedoms. As stated in the Canadian Charter, fundamental rights and freedoms include the following: (a) Freedom of conscience and religion; (b) Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication Wearing burqas and niqabs are not just a religious duty for many Muslim women; it is an identity and form of self-expression that should be practiced with free will. Enough is enough, get over your hate for our peaceful religion and give us the same rights as everyone else in the country.

Maryam (May Allah's peace, mercy and blessings) be upon her, was preffered by Allah above all women, is it right? She was best example, of purity, is it right? If she did not wear niqaab, why do you wear and say it is your "religion"? Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing. Had "niqaab" been a command of Allah, Maryam, the mother of Isaa would have worn niqaab and carried the baby and no one would have recognized her. What do you say?
