Name: Anonymous on Nov 3, 2008Comments: the majority of motorcyclists who carry children as pillion are very careful riders. If this bill is passed, what next banning children from cars as well because that is dangerous too In fact more children are hurt and maimed from cars than motorcycles. percentage wise as well as shear numbers.Flag

Name: Marc Auger on Nov 3, 2008Comments: This is one of the most frivolous bills ever to have wasted the time of the Provincial Gov. Far more children are killed and maimed in car accidents than motorcycle accidents. Therefore, if the Provincial gov was really concerned about the safety of children under 14 they would pass a bill outlowing them from being in cars.Flag

Name: EUGENE BURLES on Nov 3, 2008Comments: Is this bill nothing more than a knee jerk reaction to some isolated incident or someones prejudicial imagination running wild This is yet another discriminatory regulation against motorcyclists and their chosen mode of transportation. There are other laws that the government can invent to protect us from ourselves. The problem is these laws would infringe on the rights and freedoms of the majority instead of a minority.Flag

Name: Robert Laite on Nov 3, 2008Comments: As a rider of over 12 years, I am apposed to Bill 117, 38.1 As a boy, I rode with my Father on his Motorcycle on Sundays and it is one of my most cherished memories of growing up and of spending time with my Father. To take away an opportunity for Parent and Child to bond like this is unacceptable. Sincerely, Robert Laite - Peterborough, ONFlag

Name: Michael PULLEY on Nov 3, 2008Comments: I urge you reconsider this bill and have a look at making a real difference in young person’s life by pushing for real change in crime instead of targeting a father and son (or daughter) going for a ride on a motorcycle to enjoy a beautiful day. The time of a parent and child enjoying a beautiful ride enriches their life and is rewarded with better relationship. I believe this outweighs the relatively low risk associated and should be welcomed instead of frowned upon.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 3, 2008Comments: This is an insultingly "nanny" type of bill. Government should not be trying to legislate life like this. This is an infringement on the liberty and dignity of parents. By logical extension parents should not be allowed to take their child in cars, let them in playgrounds etc. on the basis that deaths of under 14s occur there too.Flag
