Brighton and Hove Council have received a petition from 21 residents on the 4th December 2008 to change our ward name from Stanford to Hove Park. The council is holding a meeting on the 10th December 2009 to pass a resolution on this matter. Why would 21 residents petition to change our ward name, snobbery perhaps If you object please sign the petition. The deadline for responses to Brighton and Hove council is 25th October 2009. Also you can go to this site and object there. http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfmrequest=c1212495 PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO OTHERS TO SIGN

Sarah Ellis, United Kingdom5 years ago Comments: There is no necessity to make this change of ward name. Historically the Stanford Family of Preston Manor gave their name to the area which reaches from Stanford Road and School to Stanford Avenue. The area is in Brighton and not Hove and should for these reasons retain their original identity as Stanford.
