Here they go again - slapping down the smokers. Smokers have become the whipping boys of society. They banned smokers from pubs and clubs - and the pubs and clubs are steadily closing down. They banned smokers from all public buildings and workplaces - smokers now have to stand outside , whatever the weather, and in many places leave the grounds as well (hospitals for example). Did you know that if you work in your home, in a room used solely for your work, it is illegal to smoke in that room? Did you know that if you have an employee, e.g. a cleaner or a visiting hairdresser, you are not permitted to smoke when they are in the house, as at that time it is their place of work? Now they want to stop smoking in cars - even if the driver is the only occupant and wants to smoke. Under the law in the UK, you must now be over 18 years of age to smoke. It is fully expected that by this age you will have been exposed to all the propaganda about the dangers of smoking. If you still choose to smoke you are exercising your free will and, though you will still come across those who will tell you that you should not smoke, it is your choice. The free will of smokers is slowly being eroded. If they are permitted to bring this ban to stop smoking in vehicles into law, what will be their next step? Banning smoking in the home? If you believe that smokers should be able to exercise their free will and continue to smoke in their vehicles (or anyone else's vehicle with permission), sign this petition(you need not be smoker in order to disagree with this proposed ban)
