The purpose of this petition is to gain electronic signatures from as many impacted residents as possible who oppose the City of Leander Proposed Involuntary Annexation of Area O (including Creek Meadows Estates and the remainder of Valley View Estates).

We will see a property tax increase of 30%, which is very significant and extremely disproportionate with the value of the "additional" services offered by the City of Leander. We all have existing water & wastewater/septic, and additional City services will provide negligible value. We'll also be subject to additional regulations and zoning restrictions.

While we have little power to fight this under Texas law, we can make our opposition known. I plan to attend one or both hearings at the City Council Chambers (201 N Brushy St) on Thursday March 3 and Thursday March 17 at 7 PM, and plan to present the results of this petition.

I would love to see as many fellow residents as possible join me in attending these hearings. We are in a tough spot, I think we're best served approaching this in the calmest, most rational, and persuasive manner possible.
