I think if it is proven that she was handed over to American intelligence officials by the government of Pakistan in expectation of promised payments, then it is tantamount to sale of a human being and a gross violation of UN Charter which the UNO must take notice of. In fact all associations of human society should condemn such an act and demand recompense for the victim. The tormentors of Aafia should know what Hafiz said seven centuries ago:
"Patience o heart, for Truth never leaves
Such a jewel in the hands of vice"
Aafia will go down in history as a symbol of human resolve for justice, freedom and defiance of opression. I salute her courage and whole heartedly support her struggle for justice. |
