Autism Education Initiative to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Please join ITT Autism in reaching out to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help improve the quality of education for autistic students in the public school setting. We are asking their organization to open up a new branch of their foundation specifically for autism education. This would involve helping schools set-up tech based classrooms with SmartBoards, computers, & mobile devices; new infrastructure that can handle the demands of a 21st century classroom; teacher/aide/therapist training; and promoting public awareness & support to families living with autism.
"The Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) with funding and direction from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a report that suggests 1 in 50 children has autism." - March 20, 2013; The Autism Society
