Name: Garry Jones on Feb 12, 2010Comments: Hello this is the founder of the organization advocate4justice. During my tenure working for the state and Federal system for 16 years, I seen one thing in common. The prisons were over crowded with people that committed non-violent offenses. I do not condone of anyone breaking the law, but to sentence people who committed a non-violent offense for long periods of time without parole while at the same time allowing child molesters, murders, and rapist to either get probation or a short sentence is a travesty.I do believe in redemption, that is why I'm making a call for one million signatures to be sent to our politians to re-instate parole in the Federal System. It is costing tax payers a total of 68 billion dollars a year to housed State and Federal inmates. Our economy can no longer handle this pressure. Allow deserving inmates who have demonstrated good conduct and have served a third of their sentence to be free. Allow them to come out and get a job and start paying taxes. Most of the jobs the general public is losing are jobs that are going inside the prisons for inmates to perform for pennies on a dollar.Flag

Name: Vikki Hankins on Feb 13, 2010Comments: My mother took her life when I was 19 years old, two years later I was standing in front of a federal judge receiving a 23 year sentence for a very small amount of illegal drugs. Two years after this a murder took place that ended the life of a young man entering college...the murderer was out of prison within 2 years; the young man entering college that I speak of was my brother. Something has to change to bring balance to the criminal justice system. We need to give effective, balanced punishments for non violent offenses, by reinstating federal parole as it was years ago.Flag

Name: Melinda Pearce on Feb 22, 2010Comments: Dear friends, I am here to lend my support in the reinstatement of the Florida parole program. I am not a drug affender and never have been. I believe from my heart that instead of throwing a life away, we should understand that something has happend to the person that is on drugs any ways. No one will ever convince me that a soul is born and already planning a life of drug use. I have been a victom of many crimes that were done to me as a child. Its true ,I did not turn to drugs but I did my fair share of suffering and I made my fair share of mistakes, I don't recall anyone ever there to lend me a hand and show me the way. What I have discovered came from lots of searching and crying along the way. I am more incline to want to help people with what ever has caused them to take this path. Our country suffers when we throw away a life. I know it takes a pretty creative person to even have the guts to do drugs to be brave enough to even mess with thier own mind. I have found that some of the most talented people are locked up and are behind bars. We don't ever stop and think of what is going on with this person or how can we help. We all are coming out of the wood work and we are going to reach all of these people one by one. The mind will not be wasted and freedom with the love guidence is the correct way to help people and our country. We are all doing a great service to every spirit by uncovering thier past to teach them to love themselves and from thier experience help others. slowly we are all coming together for the same reason. I have manage to break the secret that was holding me back and as a result I have freedom and I will continue to think in my mind of the freedom of the individuals that desreve a second chance. We need to teach and not preach. The positive energy and desire that is being thought with infinite intelligence, It is a matter of time before the program will be reinstated. Remember what you resist will persist. I am inti slavery and pro frreedom, That my friend is balance and the Universe loves balance and will gravitate to the desire. Prison is another form of slavery. For all of the people that are in their, society failed them in helping them and people turn to the thing that most are juging of instead of us baring just a little blame. Its true we all have a choice but what if you don't know and you ask and some will say I don't know. well when a person is in a negative frequency your not gonna get a positive result it just does not work that way. I feel I have made my point thank you very much. Best Regards, Melinda PearceFlag

Name: Robert Williams on Jun 30, 2010Comments: The federal justice system is using trickery, false plea bargins which they know they are not going to honor to get young black men to plead guilty then bring other falsehoods to destroy their lives after they can not change their plea. It a planned trap just to get them to plea guilty to the lesser time when some are not guilty just afraid of all the years they are being confronted with.Flag

Name: Joie Trefz on Sep 20, 2010Comments: I agree totally. Reinstate Florida parole. Inmates who serve part of their sentence, perform their duties while in prison, and maintain their good behavior should be given the opportunity of parole. Especially those incarcerated for the first time. Politicians continue to talk about budget cuts and prison overcrowding - but do not seem to see the obvious solution. If a person is a model inmate, they should be given a chance. Don't just assume that everyone will reoffend - this is not true. If parole is reinstated, that will put the burden of support back on the individual who will be able to work and pay taxes. This will not only relieve the states funding issues, but will provide more tax dollars.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 16, 2010Comments: Our country incarcerating people for 5 years for conspiracy to avoid big penalties for crimes they didn't commit? Conspiracy was only created to force white collar suspects to plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit. It is a joke. The feds are abusing authority and imposing long sentences on innocent victims of the feds. Bring back parole and look at true character and what is best for this countryFlag
