Comments: I have a great concern as the proposal to remove the need to consider a child’s ethnicity denies a human being the most fundamental right to identify with a particular group of people and to seek to promote and be informed about those aspects of their culture and heritage that will promote their social, emotional and intellectual development and will enhance their welfare.

Comments: Please, please ensure that matching children with thier faith background is given paramount consideration as their planners we need to at least give them the opportunity to be brought up in the religion of their birth parents.

Comments: This is not a good idea, it will result in many displaced adults, not knowing about their cultural or heritage, this will have social and educational development repercussions for these children. A good way to look at this is, as an English white Christian, your child for whatever reason ended up needing adoption would you like a black African Muslim family bringing up your child? Be honest you would not. Children should be matched to there roots as much as possible, faith, colour, language to reserve cultural heritage and ethnic identity.

Comments: There are too many Muslim Children in the care system & this proposal will place children at risk of significant trauma if they lose their racial, religious & cultural identity.
