Comments: Anyone with a limited knowledge of physics can understand that there is more than one way to move a ton. We were able to do it before the use of fossil fuels and we don't have to go backwards to break our dependency. Every gram of matter in our universe has energy that could fuel our entire planet for years if used properly, and our failure to understand that, as well as the controlling influences of the economy, can be our demise if we refuse to evolve. The big surprise to people that want off shore drilling is that their dreaded mark ups are happening as much at home as they are abroad.

Comments: The use of oil is a decaying part of our past, that if not dealt with now will destroy the future of mankind. Stop drilling now. Better methods can be developed if the Corporations of America put money into Research & Development.

Comments: Oil is a finite resource. We are already well past its peak. The government needs to put real money and effort into viable sources of alternative energy. Solar, wind, and hydrogen are all great possibilities, if only we could explore and expand on them.

Comments: We need to be more sustainable like our ancestors before us. If we drill we will destroy not only a beautiful environment but a way of life of the people who live there and who is next

Comments: The oil drilling companies should look beyond the big bucks and realize the value of Antarctica is just too high to mess around with. This beautifully preserved part of the world is pretty much the only place left on this planet which has not been altered by human kind. We should keep it that way, and should leave it be.
