Name: Al Johnson on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I was a Parts Manager for a LI Audi dealer back when the UrQ was introduced and fell in love with the car. Now that I own one and also a CGT, parts are NLA. Kind of makes me wish I worked at a BMW dealer instead,so I could have fallen in love with one of their models. If it keeps up like this, you will have to buy two cars to keep one as a spare parts supply. Similar to what Yugo was doing back when they were pulling out of the US market, 2 cars for the price of 1, so you would have spare parts.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 27, 2006Comments: As the owner of 3 older Audis (1984 CGT, 1984 4000QS, 1986 4000CSQ) I find it difficult to find replacement parts. I also find it very sad that when Audi as a company wants to draw attention to themselves they advertise their Quattro heritage, yet simply ignore supplying the cars that crafted that history.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I Love audi's willingness to go where other dare to tread.I looked long and hard (10 years) to find a low mile UrS6 and everyone who saw the luster of the deep paint thought it was only 2-3 years old. Now I can't believe part's are NLA. I faniticly praised Audi to family and friends, even getting my in-laws to buy one. They just bought a new honda and regert the purchase just because the audi offered so-much more.... Now what The honda we be supported longer Disgraceful and sad. Help us help you.....Flag

Name: Tom McClay on Dec 27, 2006Comments: My dad had one of the earliest Audi's to be sold in the US, a 1970 100LS. I love it so much in 1985 I bought my first and only new car - a 4000Q - planning to drive it for 10 years and "move up" to a Mercedes. 22 years later, who needs (or even wants) a Mercedes This car is built like a safe, but the parts supply is drying up. Come on, guys, this is unsat. Don't make me come over there!Flag

Name: Chris Grant on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I still own my first Audi, an 80 Sport (type 81). Since then we have had eight other Audis, all but two bought new. Since 1996 A4s A3s S3 and none of them are as well built as the B2/B3/B4 models that we once owned. I'd love an Ur Quattro, I could easily afford a good one BUT I keep reading about too many NLA parts. I can understand that Audi needs to be profitable but not only do you no longer make the parts you appear to refuse licences to any third party who would be prepared to make them.Flag

Name: James Bufkin on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I own 4 audis. 2001 A8L, 1998 A6, Two urquattros one of which is a rally car formerly owned by Bruno Kreibich. Audi's lack of support for key older vehicles is not up to par with Mercedes and BMW. As it stands now, this issue will greatly effect my next car purchase and any recommendation I give to friends for their next car purchase. It's not so much that other brands discontinue support after 10 years, its that cars in the same price range as Audis and from German manufacturers provide parts support for a much longer period. Mercedes in fact is quite proud of this. My mother just bought an S500 on this issue alone based on my recommendation.Flag

Name: Harold McComas on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I own a '96 S6, this is my first Audi (parents owned a '86 5000s) and absolutely love it. However, if Audi will not support its vehicles produced in the past I will definately not support Audi in the future and this will be my last Audi. The "other" premium German brands ( BMW, MB) support their classics, why not AudiFlag

Had an '85 80 Sport which was a fantastic car and have had a '91 90 20v for 5 years now. I really hope I can continue to buy genuine spares for this car as I have no plans to get rid of her, and she'll probably outlast me.Flag

Name: Rob Petschke on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I am a longtime Audi owner with a current collection including a 1973 100LS, 1974 Fox, 1984 4000S, 1988 90, and 1995 A6. I have been very disappointed with Audi's short-term committment to supplying parts for their cars, particularly when compared to BMW and Mercedes. Friends who collect those marques are in a different boat with regard to parts availability and support. I hope that Audi will realize that supplying parts for older models does NOT discourage the purchase of new cars- the opposite is true. When an automaker supports its cars and customers, they are MORE likely to continue to by from them. If that support system is not there, brand loyalty is questioned when it comes time to purchase the next car.Flag

Name: Michael Hopton on Dec 27, 2006Comments: I own seven Audis and my close family members another three. My cars include two 1983 ur-quattros, a 1984 ur-quattro and two 1985 ur-quattros. I was very disappointed to learn during the Summer of Audis policy to fire-sale many sport and ur-quattro parts. They should set up an organization to keep supplying parts for these cars. Specifically safety and maintenance parts, brake lines, ball joints etc are NLA. Do they want these perfectly good cars parked for goodFlag

Maintaining a heritage takes more than slick ads claiming that your past is the basis for current success. We can stomach paying high prices for quality parts, but unavailable parts at any cost is not consistent with a philosophy of customer care.Flag

Many others have said it before me but I will say it again, Audi expects to and has cashed in on their racing heritage and pointed to the cars that got them there. People ask me why I drive Audis, I smile then I take them for a ride. They understand now, WHY I wanna keep doing that. Audi needs to keep parts in the pipeline if they want to retain our loyalty.Flag
