Dear Breakdown Services, Actors Access, LA Casting, Casting Networks & All Audition Breakdowns Websites:

Please add "Ok/Not Ok With Nudity/Willing to Do" and "Nudity/No Nudity" filters to your websites. Actors should be able to include "Ok" or "Not Ok" in their profiles and resumes. Projects and/or roles that include nudity should be tagged so that an actor can check "No Nudity" and filter out those roles that are not suitable for them.

Having an Ok/Not Ok With Nudity section on profiles will help representatives more efficiently submit their clients for appropriate roles. It will create a more effective daily process for everyone involved in submitting and casting, including agents, talent and casting offices. Just like the Performance Skills section includes everything from Accordion playing to Whistling, a Willing to Do section could include a variety of degrees of nudity and simulated sex or violence, such as "Partial Nudity," Full Frontal Female," "Full Frontal Male," "Full Rear," "Topless Female," "Topless Male," etc. "Kissing," "Simulated Sex," "Sexual Assault" and "Sexual Violence" should also be included on both profiles and project filters. There could even be a "Possible Nudity to Be Negotiated" for projects or performers that are on the fence or looking for an amazing role that may include "tasteful nudity."

Being able to check off the aspects of performance an actor is comfortable with should be as accessible as checking off juggling or dance on an actor's profile. This provides readily available information for anyone viewing an actor's resume. Adding these options to the Advanced Search section for agents and managers will also help representatives easily pull up their clients who might be right or interested in reading for a certain role.

When actors are self-submitting, they should be able to filter out projects with nudity and/or sexual violence. Actors Access has created an "Exclude Reality TV Projects" filter that actors can choose when looking for projects. If Reality TV can be filtered, there's no reason why a Nudity filter can't be created.

Actors give all of ourselves to our work and so much is expected from us, often with too little compensation. We deserve to be empowered to have complete autonomy over our bodies. No one should be expected to expose their breasts, buttocks or other body parts if they do not want to do so. Actors who are comfortable with this should be given more options and opportunities to find work. Those willing to appear nude deserve the chance to easily be considered for the work that requires it. Those who don't should be able to easily skip over these roles. All actors should have the opportunity to efficiently communicate their choice to representation and casting.

Thank you,
Actors Everywhere
