Acta Cytologica plays a very important role to highlight hospital and lab cases that the US publications do not include. It is the forum for international comparative debate on methods and procedures that reflect the IAC members.

I regularly receive the printed version. Was quite surprised when the impact factor was revoked from this prestigious journal. Other, less known journals in this field have IF, while Acta Cytological functions uninterrupted for a couple of decades.

Acta Cytologica is the official journal of International Academy of Cytology. This journal should be listed under pathology/cytology field, and should not be compared to "cell biology" journals. Impact factor decision should be reconsidered.

Cytotechnologists, Cytopathologists are specialists, belonging to a small, but extremly important part of the medical world and should not be penalised by a simple arbitrary number that will destroy the link to the rest of the medical world. René Neidhart, Switzerland

Acta Cytologica is the history of Cytopathology. It is the official journal of many international societies for 60 years and still the sole avenue of many remarkable clinical cytology studies. It merits a significant journal IF.

As full professor of Pathology, I consider Acta Cytologica an useful and important mean of knowledge in the peculiar and specific field of pathological morphology, deserving to be attributed a significant Impact Factor.

A journal with JIF attracts more valued articles. Already, the articles published are useful and adhere to its core focus i.e. they do not digress from cytology to other diagnostic branches of medical science. Thus, it deserves the JIF
