Dear Mayor Bloomberg, The NYPD have committed several acts of corruption and misconduct that today will likely go unpunished. It is understandable that the police force have a difficult mission and it sometimes may be necessary to provide a more stern hand to enforce the law. However, NYPD activities that actively display corruption and use of excessive force such as the Schoolcraft case, Kimani Gray Case, several Occupy Wall Street cases, and many more still go unpunished. Thus with this petition I would like to convince you the need to take action and balance the NY CCRB and promotion of Police Recording in order to provide a more objective prosecution of police misconduct. Thus in this act we seek to replace the NYPD employee judges with city judges. Implement a Jury system to make the prosecutions however still permit the NYPD commissioner to overrule decisions provided that the reasoning is acceptable to the Jury. Additionally, Police Officers on duty who fail to provide recordings of their patrol will be docked pay. This added section is to enforce officers to provide evident proof constantly and to discourage hiding errors or misconduct.
