| 705 | Turtle Schultz | Illinois has banned us from smoking in all businesses, but all the tax revenue the sale of cigarettes was bringing in is hurint Illinois for the lose of that tax money.
No wonder they Illinois is raising all other taxes. It's their own fault.
It is my choice to smoke, and isn't that part of being an American "Freedom of Choice". Apparently not in Illinois. |
| 706 | Turtle Schultz | docutments from the American Cancer Society will never be revealed. If they are all their federally funded money would be stopped and a investigation into past years would cause them too many problems for making false statements to scare the public to continue to receive money from the government to research nothing. |

| 708 | Jessie C. Schlesner | In a Time when our econmy is in horable condition, It's a horable idea to bad smoking for thesimple fact that Bad and food service bussiness are lossing money, They can't pay their workers as high a wage that means less taxes our of their paychecks not to mention les money for them to Spend "And pay taxes on" to stimulate the econimy.
The people passing this law did so with simply selfish intent thinking not of the wide spred efecs not only on te smokers but the econimy itself.
Obiity is the biggest health concern yet A 500 Calory big mac can still be sold. This bad is not only wrong but down right discrimination. |

| 710 | Lauren | Businesses should have the right to choose between smoking and non. |
| 711 | Michael B. Baehr, Sr. | I also believe that they [FSC's] are a health hazard. A very large and growing number of people using FSC's are complaining of chest pain, harsh cough, headaches... all attributable to smoking the product.
I sincerely hope a class action suit is brought against state government and the ACS for negligence and endangerment. |

| 713 | pat galambos | I worked in nusing homes as a aide, there were a lot of people who died from emphysema and cancer that were never around smoke. They make out like if you're not around smoke you'll be fine. Are people that ingorant, that smoking is the only reason they get diseases like that? |

| 718 | David Harrison | I am a Toronto Canada resident and I am amazed at the dispicable display of discrimination to smokers. In the thirties their used to be signs up not allowing jews or blacks at public beaches but even then there were places where they could swim or do their laundry. As a cigarette smoker there is not one place in my entire country where I can congregate with other smokers and enjoy conversation. In the summer we can meet outside but in the winter months this reprehensible law has us housebound without group areas to meet and enjoy each others company. This is intolerance at its highest level in an era which supposedly embraces tolerance of all groups, races and religions. We are segregated and confined to our houses for half the year. I have no objection to non smokers having places where they can congregate but what gives them the right to prevent me from having places where I can congregate. Smoking is a choice, I am prepared to risk my health in return for the pleasure I get from it and no other person can tell me I'm wrong because my Life is mine. If I decide to forgoe the last 10 or 15 years of Life in return for 50 years of having twice the pleasure of a non smoker this is my decision and my decision alone. The taxes I pay on every pack of cigarettes I buy insure that my health costs will be covered taking the burden of my health care off the general public unlike the nonsmoker who gets cancer and has paid not one cent over the general taxes that we pay. His health costs are partially carried by me and I am insulted that he has total freedom and I don't. This is a disgusting display of discrimination and even if you are a non smoker and you are not advocating smokers rights you are just as guilty as the person who did nothing when the discrimination of the thirties was going on. I hope you get back to me by email as in Canada there isn't even a smokers rights association in the entire country. Please feel free to write.
Thanks and regards Dave Harrison |
