Save Axton Chase School

Axton Chase School is a successful school which has in the past seven years really begun to excel under the professional leadership of its headteacher and the commitment of its dedicated staff. The proposal to create an Academy is a testament to the ethos, values and vision of the Leadership Team. However under the existing proposals the Leigh Academy would takeover our school and merge it with theirs to create a satellite academy under their Principal Frank Green. There is no place in this management structure for Kevin Stokes who is responsible for the sucess that Axton Chase now has. Axton Chase deserves and our children deserve the opportunity for Kevin Stokes to lead Axton Chase into becoming an Academy in its own right. This will provide a real choice for parents and children - an academy that focuses on learning in an environment of nurture and stimulation. A chance to provide a different option rather than as a satellite of an existing formula. We believe if consultation is to mean anything, and particularly if parental choice is to mean anything, the LEA should be consulting on a range of options, not just one, and we encourage as many people as possible to sign our petition to make this happen. Thank you .

6 years ago Comments: STOP MAKING SCHOOLS ACADEMYS . IT IS PROVEN THAT IN AMERICA IT DOES NOT WORK AND THEY ARE CONVERTING BACK TO SMALLER SCHOOLS. WHEN WILL THE GOVERMENT LEARN AND LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE AND WHAT THEY WANT. WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT 10 YEARS TO FIND OUT THEY MADE A MISTAKE AND THEN CHANGE IT BACK AGAIN.
