Name: Delta Loftman on May 16, 2007Comments: My major concern right now is the rising cost of tuition. My son is currently in the 1st grade (started w/ACS in Kindergarten). My prayer is to see him complete all eight grades at ACS, but the tuition has me considering other academic options. HELP!Flag

Name: Bridgett Buckery on May 17, 2007Comments: Thank you for the update. I am a school social worker in the public school system. I have been extremely grateful and satisfied with ACS. My son wakes up everyday eager to go to school. My sons are in the preschool. Therefore, I might not have been exposed to the issues that you discussed. However, smaller classroom size is the reason for me placing my children in a private school setting. I am on the front line of the public school education and fully aware of the negative effects of large class room setting. Therefore, I support your petition. At the same time, I am grateful for the cultural academic setting that Allen offers. Stay in touch .Flag

Name: Denese Veria-Wilson on May 17, 2007Comments: Along with what is mentioned here I have other concerns as well. Such as teacher-parent contact of missing assignments and/or projects prior to report cards. More immediate consequences for misbehavior rather than demerits which takes time to accumulate and no direct action, ie, phone call, detention, parent meeting etc.Flag

More people should put academic excellence first for our future leaders of the world. I hope that this school will take your comment and concerns seriously and make the necessary changes immediately. I can't imagine that they would not realize the seriousness of the issues that were laid out in your letter. Good luck and you have my support. SoniqueFlag

Name: Crystal L. George-Moses on May 24, 2007Comments: I agree wholeheartedly with you and wanted to add: "If teachers could remain after school at least 45 minutes 1-2 days a week to help struggling students, it would be appreciated. Additionally, the PTA has tried very hard to bring clubs to the school. Perhaps a solicitation to the congregation would help bring in volunteers that would make the clubs a reality. It would great to see a Christian Club that would reinforce Christian living. I want my children, ages 11 and 5 to remain at Allen and see both of them graduate. However, yearly tuition increases may become a hardship, although increases are understandable given the costs to manage such a school."Flag
