Whereas: the membership has lost faith and trust in our MEC chair.

Be it resolved by this petition: The Air Canada pilots request that the MEC conduct an on IVR vote of the membership, as per the constitution, to recall Bruce White as the ACPA MEC Chair.

Back ground:

Section 4 Removal from Office a) Any elected official may be removed from office by a vote of the applicable membership, as follows; 1) In the case of the President or Secretary-Treasurer, by an absolute majority vote of the entire membership. 2) In the case of the Local Chair and Vice Chair or Councillor, by an absolute majority vote of the membership within that Local Council. 3) In the case of the MEC Chair: i) by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of all members of the Master Executive Council. Such vote to be conducted at a special MEC meeting called for that purpose; or ii) by an absolute majority vote of the entire membership. b) Such a vote shall be initiated by the Master Executive Council upon receipt of a petition requesting such a removal vote signed by at least: 1) In the case of the President or Secretary-Treasurer: i) thirty percent (30%) of the membership, or ii) fifty percent (50%) of the members of the Master Executive Council, 2) In the case of the Local Chair and Vice Chair or Councillor; i) thirty (30%) of the membership within that Local Council, or ii) fifty percent (50%) of the members of the Local Executive Council, 3) In the case of the MEC Chair; i) thirty percent (30%) of the membership. ii) fifty percent (50%) of the members of the Master Executive Council.
