| 1 | Kawser Jamal | With our respect for our Language Movement of 1952, we have picked the day 21st February 2008 to launch a movement a "Campaign for Accountable Democracy in Bangladesh". We are all for democracy but democracy with check and balance. Democracy with transparency.
It's a citizens movement for a call for an establishment of accountable practice of democracy
in Bangladeshi political establishment. Please be a part of this non-partisan campaign for the better of Bangladesh in years to come.
Lets all work together one more time to make the dream of golden country visible and seen in the eyes of the common people of Bangladesh. Millions of people had sacrificed their life so we can breath in independent country name Bangladesh, but this time we are asking for your support so we can see the true fruits of independence that we had never seen.
Working for Better Bangladesh.
An Agent for Change for Better in Bangladesh.

| 18 | abid bahar | Excellent initiative by Bangladeshis, who couldn't forget their country because they refuse to believe in the idea of "out of sight, out of mind." Their mind's eyes can always see Bangladesh even in their dreams. Keep up the pressure to have more Bangladeshi contextual reforms in Bangladesh. These initiatives are signs of Bangladeshi's creative energy which also shows that there is future for Bangladesh! |
| 19 | Dr. Habib Siddiqui | I fully endorse the initiative that is launched by Kawser Jamal and others of the Change Bangladesh. Without transparency and accountability in governance, democracy is a joke. For the experiment of democracy in Bangladesh to succeed, all the points raised in this initiative are critical and must be adhered to. |
| 20 | undertaker_bd | We all want effective democracy not democracy of black money. Thanks |

| 22 | Tania | |
| 23 | Musfique Prodhan | Since our current political trend doesnot comply with the basics of democracy, hence we seriously need to think for an alterantive approach. I hope such petition can open up ways to bring changes in our political arena. |
| 24 | Mostafa Arifin | |
| 25 | Mohammad Zakaria | Acccountable democracy must grow from the grassroots where the majority citizens reside. NRBs must work as pressure group like the university students in the language struggle that led to liberation war with rsultant political independence. |

| 35 | Anonymous | Without true democracy and the removal of corruption from all aspects of government Bangladesh will never realize its full potential. |
| 36 | Prof. Zohir Chowdhury | Great initiative! Although signature campaigns are easy ways to show support for this effort, much more active work needs to be done as concerned citizens. Hope to see other parallel and multi-prong efforts coming soon to tackle this issue.
Best,
Zohir Chowdhury

| 37 | Shahjahan Khan | Accountability in all level is absolutely essenatial for the survial of democracy in Bangladesh. |
| 38 | Mirza Golam Sabur | Some body has to take the initiative to make the changes. We are going through a social, political and financial crisis. I trust a true leader, or a group of leaders will be born through these crisis. It need not be from the civic society or army. History will show that true leaders were born in ghettos and slumps. |
| 39 | Zaheed Husain | |
| 40 | Reazur Rahman | This is a good initiative!!! |
| 41 | m s zoha | we bangladeshi can never be good in practicing democracy. we only know how to conspiren befool us n go to power only to preside over looting of peoples money n destroy democracy |
| 42 | Kamrul Ahsan | |
| 43 | Robin Khundkar | Though important, Intra-party democracy cannot be imposed from above. It can only be suggested, which political parties as free associations can accept or chose to ignore.
However the following steps the CTG Govt should pursue vigourously without any partisan agenda, whether over or covert. These steps if taken will go a long way towards reducing corruption and ensuring accountability everywhere including within the political parties.
A truly independent Judiciary free of influence from vested groups.
A strong and vigorously independent Election Commision
A more autonomous Bangladesh (Central) Bank
Fiscal Budgets & Govt Expenditures including that Defense open to full disclosure and scrutiny. |

| 45 | Woakil Ahmed | Remove student politics from all universities and colleges in Bangladesh for ever. Stop all political parties to from their agents/groups outside Bangladesh soil. Go only for actions not talk... |
| 46 | Dr. Sanwar Ali | |
