Instead of the second homes allowance MPs that live outside of London should be given a fully furnished, self contained, one bedroom flat, rent free (owned by the government) for use whilst they are in London on business. The abuse of the second homes system would be eradicated. It would be easier to keep track and control of MPs expenses. (Perhaps even easier if we threw in a rail card ;) ) MPs would not have a "second home" but "accommodation" in London. Home is where your constituency is!
