This is to protest the opening of a business establishment by, Brooks 77 Enterprises, DBA Brooks Family BBQ, at 3602 Scott St, Houston, Tx 77004, said establishment intends to serve and sell alcoholic bevferages. The concerns are (1) Jack Yates High School, (2) Houston Public Library, and (3) The University of Houston which will be in "Direct Proximity", within 300 yards of this establishment. The exposure of our youth to the sale/ consumption of alcoholic beverages and its inherent consequences is wholly unfair, unethical, and disrespectful. This is an "in yo' face" attitude and this cannot be tolerated within our Neighborhoods any longer. Our elementary school children frequent the Dr. Lonnie Smith Branch of the Houston Public Library and should not have to be exposed to such at this tender stage of social development.
