The least we can do, is show our support ... Let's keep Father Nadim in Ottawa.

As many of you may have heard, there is a great chance that Father Nadim Batikh from the Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church in Ottawa, will be transferred to Vancouver in the near future. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of knowing Father Nadim well, here are a few words to describe some of his several accomplishments since his arrival to Ottawa.

Father Nadim is not only a great priest but a kind, generous and loving man. He treats everyone with respect and goes above and beyond his duty by always being ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He is also a great listener and provides valuable advice, which explains the reason why the young and the old feel comfortable going to him for help. His great sense of humour, his kind spirit and his friendliness make him unique and very approachable. Because of this, and because of his hard work preaching the word of God, we believe that Father Nadim is a strong and an indispensible addition to the Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church and to our community. Because of him, many have returned to the church. In addition, his Sunday radio program is expanding, reaching people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs.

Therefore, Father Nadim's departure would be a great loss, not only to our community but to all. We are blessed and honoured to have him serve in the Ottawa region. Now it is our turn to show this great man our love and support. We need to stand up for him and demonstrate how important he is to us.

Having read this, if you share similar beliefs, that Father Nadim Batikh must remain in Ottawa, please show your support by signing this document.

We thank you all and God bless.
