| 452 | Jason Inks | The California Dept. of Fish and Game must not be allowed to circumvent existing law. Small scale miners deserve the same protections under due process as all Americans. The process to amend dredging regulations is in place under CEQA. DFG must be compelled to follow existing law. |

| 456 | Bill McGowan | This is big brother screwing us again. |
| 457 | Paul Darling | As I'm a fisherman & enjoy doing smome prospecting I am against this bill as I believe that the 2 can go hand in hand & that mining operations can help to improve fish habitat
Thank you

| 461 | Craig LaVanway | Small scale dredging is environmentally safe for fish and game. Fish love to be in and around small dredgers who stir up the gravels and release food they could otherwise not get to.
Even large scale dredging has been proved environmentally safe. |
| 462 | Anonymous | Several studies have been done over several years by different CA agencies regarding this matter. Results have proven there is little or no impact to fish, game or the environment as a result of small scale dredging.
US Corp of Engineers has also studied this and determined there is de minimus as to water quality and to fish and game. Please vote against this bill. |

| 470 | Thomas Parker | Dams cause way more turbulents than100`s of dredgers and if dreders dont take the mercury out, who will and what kind of impacts? |
| 471 | Anonymous | I am both a Gold digger and Fisherman and I also Pan for Gold. I can see that they go hand in hand, as that I'm always looking into the environmental issues that I am able to monitor for clean streams.Impacted gravel is not conducive to good spawning grounds, I see that the amature Gold dredger is good for my sport of fishing and the article is correct in that we do a service to the fisheries of the state. We as I have observed also clean up trash from the streams that many careless people have left behind, that have nothing to do with the sport of gold digging. |
| 472 | Robert Mathews | All rivers should stay open for everyone and not closed for some |
| 473 | Robert Slye | Governor Schwarzenegger and all California Senate members...PLEASE VETO AB 1032 !!! This is a needless and harmful bill. Suction dredging IS NOT HARMFUL to the environment. It creates dissolved oxygen and breaks up compacted gravels, thus creating spawning areas, holes and cooler waters necessary for a healthy fish population. This recreational suction dredging also removes harmful lead, mercury and man-made debris from the California rivers. California would also suffer from a loss of revenue created by purchases of recreational mining equipment, lodging &/or camping fees and created tourism related to this enjoyable activity. Miners endeavor to leave their sites in the same or better condition before they were there. AGAIN...I RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT YOU VETO THIS DETRIMENTAL TO CALIFORNIA BILL...AB 1032. Thank You. |
| 474 | Larry Maranville | This bill needs to be defeted. This whold thing doesn't offer anything that even suggest that small scale dredging hurts the fish or the environment. |

| 476 | Brian Woodcock | Hello;
I have been an advid outdoorsman my whole life, and
have used a gold dredge as a serious hobby, and as
a livelihood. I have been responsible in my activities as a gold miner. I hope this bill doesn't pass, because to me it's just one more liberty lost without sufficient evidence that gold dredging harms fish populations. this bill,in my opinion will hurt myself and many I know.
Sincerely, Brian Woodcock. |

| 483 | Frank C milburn | We do not harm the environment or damage the
habitat of fish or any wildlife. We help nature.
People in mining respect the land and wildlife . |
| 484 | Anonymous | Who is going to compensate the legal owners of property and mineral rights for the loss of our right to dredge for the gold we own on our property or the lost value of our property /minerials? Many people bought property for this reason, the season is incredibly short and we live on the river.. BIG suprise to the opposition FISH LIKE COLD WATER.. the spring rains and flooding change the river every year more than any small dredge could every do in many many life times... |
| 485 | Robert Campbell | I agree with this petition whole heartedly! Here again the government is making changes to our freedoms with out cause or reason. I would invite them down to the river and have a first hand look see! Any takers? |
| 486 | Anonymous | Please reconsider this bill and do not pass it. Suction dredging on local rivers do not hur the fish in fact we help it. Also many small businesses that deal in mi ing supplies would be hurt by this bill. |

| 491 | Mario Lombardo | The sponsors of such bills should educate themselves to what they are trying to take away from a small group of people and families who are beneficial in helping clean up the rivers in the process! |
| 492 | ray ryba | Dredges REMOVE considerable amounts of mercury and lead from our waterways. |
| 493 | Lawrence D. Nemetz | |
| 494 | Anonymous | The use of vacume dredging equipment was studied extensevely by the Canadian Goverment and was found both to help the spawning of fish and removing Murcury |
| 495 | Barbara McKim | If the person who drafted up AB1032 was seeking the truth, they would no that no harm is done to fish, the dredge actually stirs up sediment which feed the fish, and they hang around the dredge to eat, and miners are cleaning algamite out of the rivers which have been there since the 49rs. |
| 496 | Ronald L. Russell | Have any of these so-called "comprehensive studies" been done by DFG, Friends of the River, etc., to determine the destructive havoc done to riverbeds, streambeds, during the high water season when waters are moving so fast that boulders the size of volkswagons are rolling down the river, and the ENTIRE riverbed is significantly disrupted, far more so than a dredger will do in his entire lifetime! ! All they need to do is watch this type of event take place, one time! |
