1204 Karen LeonardWhen 90% of all Canada’s population live within 100 miles of the US border, it is ludicrous to have any mining in these areas. With the vast amount of land Canada has, why can't mining be left to the more uninhabited regions? As well, turning to safe eco friendly sources of energy provided for a healthy future. Lastly, private companies have no right to go onto Native Lands; this is an act of WAR. The Media have been deceptive in relating the facts of this case, reflecting the hidden agendas of an elite few who would benefit at everyone’s else’s expense. Do we live in a democracy or not? STOP THIS MINING MADNESS, BEFORE IT IS ANOTHER LOVE CANAL

1214 Denise DuFault'Put aside the Corporate agenda, and listen to your heart, now is the Time to successfully negotiate Native Land claims fairly! Do not embarrass Canadians further by this war over Native lands, we are supposed to be Leaders not third world dictators!

1218 George FergusonThe provincial government, along with the federal government, is negotiating the first ever treaty with the Algonquins. After hundreds of years of letting people take resources from the land without any compensation, you allow a mining company to start operations without consulting the Algonquins, as required under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Why do you believe that the Charter does not apply to Algonquins? Is it because the Algonquin have never signed a treaty?
1219 Peter C. van Wyck
1220 Gwen BarryIt is time to recognize First Nations's rights of control over their land. Chief Robert Lovelace should never have been jailed. Shame on Ontario and Canada for disregarding citizens rights and backing corporations.
1221 Eleanor ArcherNo wonder Canada didn't sign on to the UN Charter of Rights for Indiginous peoples. Ontario is demonstrating that it doesn't choose to acknowledge First Nations rights. The Algonquin, the KI First Nation, the Serpent River First Nation, the Grassy Narrows First Nation, all in Ontario, and all facing similar issues of the government allowing the exploitation of resources on their traditional territory without meaningful consultation. Mr. McGuinty, I'm still waiting for justice to be done.
1222 Lisa PenneyWhat are you doing to the First Nations of Ontario? How many petitions must I sign to deal with all the imprisonments, poisonings by uranium and tailings and stolen land that is taking place in your province?
1223 Ken Keesmaat
1224 Ryan McGinn
1225 Marilyn CarterI cannot believe that in Ontario in 2008 a person like Bob Lovelace would be imprisoned for standing up for his rights. We criticize other countries for jailing political prisoners and here the Ontario Government is doing the same thing.
1226 Brittany HartIt's unbelievable that still, after decades of raping the lands of our province and neglecting the needs and wants of the First Nations of Ontario that we continue to take and take. When will it ever be enough?

1232 austinblacquiereHi, my name is Austin from B.P.S and I think Robert Lovelace should not be in jail. This is an OUTRAGE and RACIST! I think we should not be treated by the colour of are skin, or the race of our family, but I think we should be treated by what is on the inside.
1233 Sherman, RylanI believe this issue is outrageous and needs to be viewed in a proper stance to an open-minded audience who properley understand the views expressed in the political issue of this letter. this situation is something far more crucial than it is being presented, Sincerely - Rylan Sherman of Beaverton Public School

1237 AnonymousHello my name is Billy Elliot from Beaverton Public School and I would like to know why Mr. Robert Lovelace is in jail? Why has their not been anything done about this discrimination?I believe that people should not be judged by the coulor of their skin or the race of their family.

1243 will novosedlikThis situation demands immediate attention. The absence of consultation with the Algonquin First Nation is unacceptable. I urge you to act in favour of the Algonquin First nation on this matter.
1244 Paula du Hamel Yellow HornDear Dalton, please release Bob, and please consider safer and greener practices in Ontario. I support a moratorium on uranium mining. Paula du Hamel Yellow Horn

1246 AnonymousMr. McGuinty, You have said in a letter to concerned citizens that the sentences handed down in Ontario courts to the native protesters are out of your jurisdiction. However, you are responsible for such draconian sentences, as attention to your responsibilities under the Indian Act and repair of the antiquated Mining Act have been neglected. You need to move to rectify this serious injustice to First Nations peoples now. Jim Rose
