1001 Alison KahlDear Mr. McGuinty; My trust in the liberal party has gone spiraling down since it has taken your government so long to come to an agreement with this issue. Where is your initiative going? For something that is so poisoning, and so toxic, I would have hoped that this issue regarding uranium mining would have been more in the knowledge of the public and not handled so poorly that the results would be that people would end up in jail. It is a shame that your morality is so low that you would think of the short term goal of the money that would be produced from this fronteer and not look at the long term problems such as all of the cancer causing agents that would be released if we were to mine such a pristine area. My Ontario is one that is without a uranium mine in its own backyard where children would play free of radiation poisoning where they wouldn't have to worry about having to be tested at Sick Kid's Hospital for cancer. My Ontario is one where the lands are full of clean water and one that does not have 20 lakes assigned to just to mining companies. I certainly would like to think that we are both on the same agenda but it looks like the money bug has bitten you lately, or, maybe it has just been a few gamma rays that have been clouding your vision.

1016 Geraldine BakerThis is way out of hand. Unbelievable that in Canada today with all we know the Ontario government and the legal system could be so wrong. It makes me ashamed to be Canadian. What is the matter with the minds of these people? What is driving their insane actions? Do they not know and understand the issues that are so obvious to those close to the earth who feel and see? Do they need a holiday in Frontenac Park to experience nature and a good read of a Suzuki book written 20 years ago? I just cannot imagine how this has come to be -- it is complete insanity! Obviously it must be stopped and whatever it takes to stop it must be done. Gentle, loving concerned grandmothers will rise and take action if this is not stopped. Corporations buying politicians cannot succeed in this age of transparency. For every fine and person they imprison the voice of opposition will increase ten fold so I feel certain that it is a battle that will be won by the people but what a waste of time and energy when we are all busy with important things like taking care of children, making meals and doing laundry in our daily lives. Well we will bring the children with a picnic lunch and the laundry will have to wait. If we get dirty camping out all summer on this site to protect what we truly believe in then it will be a summer to remember. Who will suffer when there is no food grown to send to the cities to feed the people there? Who will die of immune difficiency diseases from toxic poisons leaching into the air, water and earth? Do the politicians care about where their food comes from? I think we need to bring the NFU on board as this impacts healthy soil and air and water and what more can denature our earth in such an irreparable way? It will be worth a year in history not to grow a single carrot to save the next ten thousand years or more that this operation will impact. We know the hazards. As a human race we need to act -- we need to educate those not on board yet and never, never give up the importance of this real work.
1017 Carole SlaterYou call this a democracy?? I am ashamed of this country. This is just another example of the blatant injustices that the Aboriginal peoples have faced in this country and continue to face.

1023 Andrew SincliarI am proud to be from Eastern Ontario. It would reflect very poorly on those whom allow this uranium exploration and mining to go ahead. Please consider the future with an open mind. I believe you will make the right choice.

1027 Bill ConlonToo many people are being hurt by this sort of 'unacceptable' behaviour on the part of the Canadian and Provincial Governments. It's time we all took a stand against this and all forms of 'white supremacy'. It makes me feel ashamed to admit that I once swore an oath of allegiance to God, Queen and Country.
1028 Robert LaboucaneI am very distressed to think the Government of Ontario is still locked in the age old colonial mindset..my way or off to jail with you attitude. Really quite unbelievable and of course totally unacceptable.. consult..compromise and find the middle ground..please!

1046 Holly SherReleasing Lovelace would be a very smart move for Ontario = it's time to show the nation's native people some respect = haven't they been put through enough already? Or better question: what would you have done? How would you like a uranium mine dug in the center of your church? SAME EXACT THING. Please discontinue the shame and cruelty.
1047 Elizabeth NielsenThe Mining Act needs to be amended to ensure that companies cannot access without the permission of the owner. If uranium had been located in the Bayview area of Toronto, I am sure the situation faced by the residents in the Sharbot area would not have occurred. Ontarions who purchase land in good faith to build a residence or protect it should not be faced by the prospect of some company destroying their work.
