Name: Robert on Jul 29, 2010Comments: Some brainstorming is required to come up with some imaginative ideas on how to improve this road. For example :- Make it a trunk road again! OR if it remains with the Local Authority In areas it is wide enough to be a dual carriageway or in sections there could be directional lane sharing similar to the Aston Expressway . Access from some side roads could be stopped with the blocked ones linked to adjacent ones by access roads The renaining access points should be lit and made much safer using roundabouts or heaven forbid flyovers. There could be a bike lane and footpath for its entire length , riders and walkers are taking awful risks at present, why don't the authorities do this it this isn't expensive. A new road could be built for a section next to land required for the proposed railway. With all the proposed new housing in the villages ,Market Weghton and Pocklington a decent road is imperative to the economic well being of the area and the sanity of its drivers! COME ON LETS HAVE SOME IMAGINATION PLEASEFlag

Name: Ian Sutherland on May 18, 2012Comments: This road is simply inadequate for linking 2 cities like Hull & York. Upgrade to dual carriageway is the only option. Speed does not kill on a well designed road, look at the upgrade of the A1 between Edinburgh and Dunbar as an example, safety, journey time and 'pontooning' dramatically improved as a result.Flag
