| 3 | Graham Stuart MP | There have just been too many deaths and serious injuries on the A1079. It's time it was put right. |
| 4 | Richard Williams | Terrible road. Needs major work which should be financed centrally. |
| 5 | Ian Pitcher | If the total cost of a fatal accident is around £1,000,000 then how much money has to be spent before the road is made safer? |

| 7 | brendon | has a traffic flow study been carried out? if do one then tell me that it does not upgrading |
| 8 | Pete Craven | surely the sheer volume of trafic must put this road high on the list of accident prevention. |

| 10 | Paul Bedford | The a1079 is becoming like a car park at peek traffic hours with long queues and motorists unable to get on the road from side roads, it is an absoloute nightmare! |
| 11 | Peter White | This is the most dangerous road in the locality.
To turn right from Pocklington onto the A1079 is normally difficult and, at peak times, I see many drivers taking a significant risk to do this.
Motorists letting other drivers out of side roads regularly causes a dangerous queue of stationery traffic.
I feel that it would be safer to drive on the M25 than the A1079 from Pocklington to York. |

| 13 | Mr K Grogan | The road is particularly busy for those who travel towards York between 0700hrs and 0900hrs to get to work, therefore extending their working day. |

| 16 | Ian Burnard | In my opinion, I think this roadway linking the cities of York, Beverly and Hull requires upgrading to a roadway suitable for its level of traffic in the 21st century. I also think that significant safety improvements are required at villages which it runs through and at notorious junctions which join on to it. |
| 17 | Mrs Joanne Sykes | As a regular user of the A1079 I think big changes need to be made before there are more fatalities |

| 22 | Rowan Blake-James | The A1079 is a key strategic route linking a major port with a key Northern City .. to find it held up while a family of ducks cross the road at Bishop Burton beggars belief ! |
| 23 | Dale Needham | Restrictions by the speed and access on the A1079 seriously impact on the economic development and viability of the East Riding. Such a major link between 2 cities the size of York and Hull should not be limited and hampered . This would not be acceptable south of the Watford gap so why should local people accept it. |

| 29 | Steve Hammond | The A1079 has become a nightmare to commute on. The junction by Pocklington airfield is lethal and the new speed enforcement policy on the road towards Hull has rendered the road almost useless as a commuter route. Something must be done soon before everyone makes the change to the rural roads and more and more accidents happen! |

| 31 | Anonymous | We consider that it is high time that the A1079 road was upgraded to reduce further accidents and fatalities. |
| 32 | Colin Beattie | This road should have been upgraded many years ago along with the bridge at Stamford Bridge. It is difficult to understand why over the years the relevant authorities both national and local have been happy to allow so many houses to be built in the area without giving thought to the local infrastructure. |
| 33 | Helen Smith | When we first moved to Pocklington there was a small slip road when driving from York and turning into Pocklington near the airfield. This was removed about 2 years ago when the junction was "improved". Since then I fear for my life and other road users when turning in at this junction. Despite giving plenty of warning and slowing gradually vehicles still do not slow down behind you. Instead they pull out into the centre of the road which is a middle lane for vehicles to turn right from the other direction. I am amazed that there have not been more accidents at this junction. Mor e by good luck then design. All the other exits along the A1079 from York to Pocklington have slip roads.
In addition we travel to Beverley frequently. Every single time when travelling in either direction there are some idiots who cross the double white line in the centre when travelling down hill rsking not only their lives but others.
I fully support this campaign to upgrade the A1079 - the volume of traffic using it is very high and has grown over the past 5-10 years with more houses being built away from York. Due to the timescales involved to properly upgrade this road either to more dual carriageway or other, serious provision must be made to facilitate day to day travel for commuters on their journey without further lengthy delays for prolonged periods. |
| 34 | rob lundie | having used the a1079 for over 30 years as the former countrsyide access manger (ERYC), now retired, i wonder whyy, oh why, was it not dualled in the 70's when the opportunity was ther? |

| 41 | Peter Sullivan | This road needs upgrading due to the sheer volume of traffic and accidents. As this is the only viable form of transport, no rail link and woefully inadequate bus services, between York and Hull there is no alternative to improving and upgrading this “Trunk” road. |
