The purpose of this petition is to help galvanize Americans and its legal residents around the idea of paying a small fee to cable and digital TV service providers, for a technological means to block-out unwanted cable TV commercials between regular scheduled programming.

More and more TV subscribers are ranting about unwanted cable TV commercials flooding their television sets. However, the fact of the matter is that TV commercials can be more than just unwanted and annoying nowadays, but literally intrusive too.

Often without your consent, or acknowledgement, advertisers are being sold your information, particularly in terms of how you shop and where you shop; or who you are ethnically and professionally, and to what demographic you belong.

Further, upon being probed and cataloged, your information is disseminated to paying advertisers, wherein such advertisers will pipe [tailored commercials] right into your homes based on how people and corporations interprets your personal shopping habits.

What's even creepier is that more unethical ways of acquiring your information may be used to discern what you do, and how often you do it, and [WHEN what you do] actually takes place.

Such TV commercial-blocking technology should be user-friendly, and widely available to customers. Moreover, the technology should have the capacity to block superimposed commercials, like the ones that have been deployed during NFL games.

Perhaps regular scheduled intermission commercials can be blocked out and replaced with a cool wall paper, or music categories for customers to choose from.

Imagine a cable TV environment where you don't consistently get bombarded with [LOUD] TV commercials, oppressing political commercials, cancer commercials, pharmaceutical commercials, insurance commercials, culturally bias commercials, or commercials you believe are either sinister, or deemed unfit for your children to see.

Imagine at the mere push of a button, on your remotes, unwanted commercials would be blocked out for as long as you subscribe to the cable or digital TV service provider who's providing the service.

Help send unwanted TV commercials where they belong; off your TV sets. It's a freedom of choice Americans and its legal residents deserve.
