Staying hydrated is really important. And so is going green. At the University of Michigan's School of Information, the drinking fountains are slow and difficult to use. They take considerably longer to fill up our water bottles and we have to do that annoying angling to make sure the upside down parabola catches into our water bottles.

This is a petition to get water bottle refill stations added to the drinking fountains in North Quad, where the School of Information lives.

Why Adding a Water Refill Station is the Right Thing to Do

- It will encourage us all to use our own water bottles, which are infinitely better for the environment than disposable plastic ones.

- It will help us students save money (giving an option outside of buying plastic water bottles.)

- Many options for water refill stations give an awesome metric (very iSchooly) telling you how many water bottles those saved (see pictures below). I find reading that number and seeing it go up when I use it to be very empowering.

Anecdotally, I can say that I will easily drink twice as much water when I have access to a water refill station (versus just having access to a drinking fountain.)

Sign this petition to help UMSI go green, keep us healthy and save us all a ton of time and headache.
