LEAGUE AGE FOR YOUTH BASEBALL

Youth baseball sign ups are in January and February of the Spring season. Practices begin February the season begins in late February or March depending on the Climate where you live. Youth baseball season is February, March, April and May with Tournament play June thru August. Currently a child born April 29th 1994 that is 10 years old is forced to play as an 11 year old as a child that is born Sept 1993 is the same league age as him. That boy is 7 months older than the 10 year old. This is unfair due to the baseball season. That 10 year old must move up to senior league before he is physically ready. Boys between 10 and 13 years old have huge physical differences. The age of the child when he signs up for baseball should be his true age.
USA BASEBALL is forcing younger kids to quit baseball early because of being forced up into senior league when they are not ready. Youth baseball is losing many players that could be good but they force them to have an older age than what they are. Let kids be kids as long as they can and lets change the USA BASEBALL LEAGUE AGE RULING TO JANUARY 1st of the baseball season. Let your son or daughter play in the league at their true age instead of a lie!!!

I am just a concerned parent that wants youth baseball to stop forcing kids to be older than what they are. Let them be children and have fun and stop this league age nonsense!!!
