Many of us who are injured in the line of duty are forced to endure inept & unprofessional practices at the hands of the NYC Law Dept, Workers Comp Division. If you have not been paid timely, have called their office repeatedly and no one calls back, it takes forever to get reimbursed or get authorizations for treatment, and your doctors complain they are not getting paid or authorizations for treatment approved, I ask that you sign this petition. It is time FDNY EMS told the Law Dept they must help us, pay our medical bills and authorize our treatment promptly. Are you tired of this? I am. Please pass this on to as many members as you can, please only sign it once, and fill it out completely. If you support this argument, please sign the petition. This way, we can fix the problem before you have to go to the Law Dept and suffer from the same problems. |

My name is Marianne Pizzitola and I am a disabled member of the FDNY EMS. I started this petition because in the course of assisting other injured members, I hear the same complaint over and over. The Law Dept is not calling me back, I am not getting authorizations for treatment, my pharmacy and doctor are not getting paid. If the NYS Insurance Dept cannot oversee this group because they are a political enitity (the City is self insured), then the City must acknowledge that their lazy attitude in handling our treatment must change.
