According to a 5/13 article in The Charlotte Observer ( http://www.charlotte.com/mld/c... )the Ballantyne/Pineville stretch of 485 has over 90,000 cars a day. Drivers of this area know that it causes significant delays during rush hour, with traffic moving at a snails pace. This area is in desperate need of widening or other congestion relief, such as light rail. NC State rules will prevent this widening of 485 from occuring for another decade. Please sign this petition if you are in favor of our city and state legislators passing an exemption to this rule allowing expedited construction, or at the very least, exploring other options. |
