257 John DavisI fully support some form of at-large election of school board members in Wake County. Our family has just a little over 2 years left to survive WCPSS. And I do mean we have just survived - not flourished. I cannot believe the arrogance and indifference of the current majority of the WCPSS board to the concerns and needs of its customers. If WCPSS were a business that had to compete based on its current service level - it would be bankrupt in a year. Today, the Wake County Commissioners are the only elected officials that are protecting us from a total onslaught from WCPSS - and the WCPSS board is pushing hard to gain taxing authority. That MUST NOT happen! Control of the purse strings by the County Commissioners is the only thing that is effecting any control on WCPSS today. The battle for at-large elections will be an uphill struggle given the current control of the State Legislature and the Wake Delegation - but it is a fight worth the effort.
258 Kim RandolphPlease make this change. It will be a great improvement for ALL of Wake County.

260 Steven J. AustinSomething needs to be done. This is one of the worst school situations I have seen.

262 Brian ThompsonLived in Wake County for 35 years. This absurdity needs to stop.
263 Jean Franks BeckI strongly urge you to convert AT LEAST four BOE positions to at-large elections, keeping the elections in compliance with all laws.

277 Laura KehnTired of reassignments and having no voice. Tired of the threatening nature of the BOE. They operate more like the Mafia with their scare tactics. It doesn't matter how much money they get, we will have kids reassigned to different schools on an annual basis. We need a stronger voice with candidates who are filling to stand up and take a stand against the current standard operating procedure (SOP) of the BOE. It's been going on for over 20 years and it needs to stop.

288 Beatrice SpenceHow much money does Wake County spend of fuel used to bus students? Just think of all the wonderful ways the local schools could put that money to better use! I believe citizens should be made aware of the WCPSS fuel costs.

290 AnonymousWe never hear the Wake School board talking about quality of education, mostly we hear talk about "what is our free or reduced lunch" enrollment percentage. Something needs to be done for the focus to be on quality of education. This initiative might not be the solution, but the status quo has got to go.

292 AnonymousWe need neighborhood schools so we can take better care of them and participate more. Also, with gas prices as they are, it is unreasonable to have long commutes to school.

298 Amy LeinfelderWe need at large elections so that each district will be adequately represented. Currently, the representatives for high growth outlying areas of our county are representing significantly higher numbers of citizens compared to the three School Board members representing those Inside the Beltline. Concerns in Growth areas are dismissed. I see a direct link between this disparity with regard to the issue of Year Round school. There were no mandatory conversions to Year Round for schools Inside the Beltline. The underrepresented in the outlying areas of the county are forced to carry this burden for the whole community. Our families suffer the discontinuity of schedules and it is business as usual for the Inside the Beltline crowd. Please help us to get an equal voice in our own community!
