cullen | davidson | WA | I think it would be in general of interest to Seattle and the state of Washington to do more to endorse motorcycle use much i the way that California has. It's odd that with concerns for polution and congestion Seattle and Washington seem to actually take measures that actually appear to be hindering ridership.

| 156 | Robert | Scott | WA | WSF management clearly does not observe the motorcycle parking on some of the busier runs, such as Clinton/Mukilteo. Even during commuter rush hours only a few automobile spots are compromised by motorcycle parking, and many bikes do fill in the nooks and crannies that cars cannot park in. The WSF has come up with a lame excuse for hiking fares on an already bonus revenue source that is very low impact on ferry traffic and on roads in general.

James | Reifenberger | WA | I have only ridden on the ferry system by way of motorcycle. The reason for this is because of the low fares. If it increases as much as stated here, I will just as soon drive around the sound.
Luca | Rattazzi | WA | Increase fares for SUV's!!!!

Kim | Zylstra | WA | Please, please do not raise the rates!
Ted | Williams | OR | I do no know where the WSF gets its figures but, my car weighs 3400lbs, and my 380lbs. My math would indicate a a ratio closer to 1/10th that of a car. Even considering the heaviest of bikes you are around 800-850 lbs that just happens to fall right in the middle of 4 or 5, but as they speak of averages, if you average the two ratios(considering an equal number of each type bike) that ratio sits around 1/7.5, with light bikes like mine already subsidizing heavier bikes.
Richard | Glenn | WA | I don't mind paying an increase, specially a fair one. Every time you turn around the ferries prices are being jacked up,???
Mark | Hollingsworth | WA |
Jim | Collman | WA | Although I'm a light user, Wash state ferries should encourage alternate modes of transportation and award, not penalize, these users.
Andrew | Michel | |
David | DeMartini | WA | It's unfair to keep raising fares and it's simply outrageous that motorcycles are being singled out for an increase more than twice the proposed for other vehicles.
Dennis | Kaill | WA | Motorcycles are being singled out unfairly and illogically as taking up more space. Not true. Charge more for SUVs which DO take more space.
Eric | Bell | WA | If this legislation passes, it makes perfect sense to add a surcharge to single occupancy SUVs, too.
CYNTHIA | SEABERG | WA |
Robert | Dickey | WA | This is absurd! Motorcycles take up less space than other vehicles. What about the size of suv's Pickup trucks etc. These are state highways paid for with tax dollars Why dont you get rid of the 300 bridge engineers and there outrageous high salaries! Stop wasting our tax money and give a raise to the ferry and dock workers Shame on you!
Darcy | Niebeling | WA |
Alvin Ralph | Giedt | WA | Seeing as you can put at least 3 to 4 motorcylces in the space of 1 auto what the point unless the rate is adjusted to reflect that, as 3 to 4 times the rate for autos. Seeing this seems to be a square footage issue, this would run down to a disscrimiation issue for all motorcycle riders, bicycle riders and foot passengers.
Chris | Dulas | | Even if motorcycles are reconsidered to be 1/4 the space of autos, why aren't the fares at least 1/3 or 1/4 that of the autos.
Anonymous | Anonymous | WA | Ferries should be subsudized like roads as the water routes are 'highways' in a water state.

ray | slocomb | |
Ray | Robinson | WA | If you need to raise the rates than do so but keep it consistent same percentage for all vehicles
Lucy J. | Haisch | WA | Being on a limited income, I have trouble scraping together the fair as it is. A 14% increase will definately "decrease" my ferry use! And... riding my motorcycle to visit friends and family on the east side of the sound is one of the few pleasures I'm still able to do during this trying time in my life!
Kay | Carleton | WA | I feel that motorcycle owners pay their fair share and stilll have to watch-out for the big guys!
daniel | Porras | WA | I agree on a pay hike but not that much
Jayleen | Searcy | WA |
Leo | Nelson | WA | Why are motorcycles being gouged? 4 bikes take up the same space as ONE CAR. With prices already almost $5 one way, well the math tells me that you make twice as much having 4 bikes in the same spot. But another thing to consider, motorcycles are normally put out in fromnt and on the edges of the ferries to allow for those cars. At keast make the pricing FAIR FOR ALL USERS. Thank You.
Dennis | Middleton | |
Bert | Price | WA | SUV'sand other vehichiles are alot larger than motorcycles so why such an increase?
Anonymous | Anonymous | WA | This is ridiculous. Same thing happened when we all got smart with roof racks and length, now they charge by height. A rack rate = same rate as a SEMI truck pays. WHAT?? I drive a MINI COOPER...
