Encouraging smaller, more efficient transportation is citical to countering this trend. Additionally, many bikes are small thier owners will be unfairly penalized. My Honda is just over 6' long , 2' wide and weighs less than 400 poinds. A new Chevy Tahoe is 19'x 6.5' and weighs 5200#. That's 9.5 times the footprint and 13 times the weight. Typical passenger cars, like a chevy impala, weigh less but have the same dimensions. |

I also don't think that the way the ferries are loaded uses all the available space very efficently. Cars leave large spaces between them. Smaller "wing" areas that could be used to park motorcycles are left empty. |

They can fit 2 bikes in the same area asa car so it should cost 1/2 the price of a car to travel on Washington State run ferries. |
