KevinMillerWAMy bike is smaller then the average bike of 20 years ago.
EricTobiaosnWAMy motorcycle takes up 1/5 the space of a car, gets 45-50 miles per gallon, and should not be penalized with a disproportionate ferry rate increase.
TomMonroeWAUsing the argument that the size of motorcycles has increased to justify larger fare increase is rediculous. Even the largest of bikes are still considerably less than 1/5 the size of the average SUV. This fare increase is blatent anti-motorcycle discrimination
JamesHarrigerWAWSF should be encouraging more M/C usage, not discouraging it.
RobertTiedemannWAThis is is VERY unfair.

EricGroenigWAIf they are going to hike the Cost, It should be a flat rate across the Board. make it an Equal increase For Cars, MortorCycles and Pedestrians. (walk Ons)
JoshuaalbrightWAThis is unfair and unfounded. This increase is not appropriate.
WilliamMossWA
GlenDeckerWAThis proposal is unfair and prejudicial.
jakehermanWAUh, bikes are getting lighter and smaller not bigger and heavier. Cars and trucks are the ones getting bigger and heavier. You guys are just trying to pick on people you don't think will mind

TomBemenderferWAUtterly incorrect application of a rate hike. The argument that motorcycles "have gotten bigger over the years" is ignorant to the extreme. If I get a 14% increase shoved down my throat, then WSF better provide a MC only parking area on every ferry, instead of being shoved into any available space like a second class citizen.
RamanjitSinghWAThe price hike is compleltely unfair.

IanZeloWAToday passenger cars and trucks increase in size every year. Even "small" vehicles like the Toyota RAV4 advertise on platforms touting how much thier size has increased. Encouraging smaller, more efficient transportation is citical to countering this trend. Additionally, many bikes are small thier owners will be unfairly penalized. My Honda is just over 6' long , 2' wide and weighs less than 400 poinds. A new Chevy Tahoe is 19'x 6.5' and weighs 5200#. That's 9.5 times the footprint and 13 times the weight. Typical passenger cars, like a chevy impala, weigh less but have the same dimensions.

LarryPriceWAThe idea that my 850 pound bike is 1/4 the size of todays SUV's is ludicrous. To follow WSF example, people then would be 1/5 the size of SUV’s. WSF needs to get a grip. If there is a need to raise fares, then raise fares the same rate across the board.
LloydGardnerWADiscouraging motorcyclists only aggrevates the problem. Bikes should get a discount.
HankPayne, P.E.Motorcycles are treated as high occupancy vehicles (HOV's) on most highways, and their use should be promoted not discouraged!

AllenKeyserWAI commute every day from Bremerton to my place of employment in Seattle, thus the 480+ times per year. I also don't think that the way the ferries are loaded uses all the available space very efficently. Cars leave large spaces between them. Smaller "wing" areas that could be used to park motorcycles are left empty.

EricYoungLike this says. SUV's and cars are all growing in size so the motorcycles are still remain proportionally the same. This 14% increase should NOT happen....
AllieDanemanThis is crazy. Motorcycles weigh less and take up less room than any other car on the road and should not be singled out like this.

terryschmidtWAThe increase is understandable however it is to much. We do not even take up car spaces (on the Clinton run)???

RyanHeacockMotorcycles on the kingston/edmonds run rairly take any space away from cars. The ferries should try saving money before squeezing the riders more.

AnonymousAnonymousWAIn these times of high gas prices if people decide to use more petroleum freindly transportation, why should they get punished by the state of Washington? They can fit 2 bikes in the same area asa car so it should cost 1/2 the price of a car to travel on Washington State run ferries.

BarneyBakerWA14% increase is far to much and the fact we ride bikes should help provide more room for others and we should be increased far less for this; not priced more, maybe 5%
thomascomsWA
ChrisNeilWAI commute on my motorcycle everyday and sometimes use it on weekends for pleasure rides to eastern WA. Having an increase like this is unfair.
